tbf, he sold the game and company a few years before that became public knowledge and has been pretty thoroughly ostracized from the games community over it. Notch doesn’t get shit from people playing minecraft, and his projects after that are so unsuccessful I had to go to wikipedia to know he even did anything afterwards instead of chilling with the 2.5 billion he got from microsoft for it in 2014.

no. if the kidnapping villagers thing was “unintended gameplay” they would’ve taken it out or put better preventions against players using it to exploit villagers in the last ten years. Mojang changes massive features to prevent players from engaging with the game a certain way all the time; the first that comes to mind is that there are caps on the amount of XP you get from XP farms — this is to slow down the game’s progression, but nobody would claim that mob farms etc are against the game’s designed progression because the fact that they’ve spent years fomenting how effective these mob farms should be kind of indicates that the mob farm itself isn’t something they have a problem with, just it being endlessly perfectly effective. if microsoft wanted players to not treat the villagers the way they are treated by the majority of high level players, they would just change how that gameplay loop worked. They’ve done it before & it would be much simpler than the smaller tweaks they’ve made.
it would be entirely possible to make villagers refuse to trade if they don’t have access to free movement, other villagers, and “homes” (the villagers even have code that makes them count a bed as a “home”; with a little adjustment, these requirements could be made stronger). the fact the developers have chosen not to implement this while implementing things like “feeding a parrot inappropriate food fatally poisons it” or “goats no longer drop mutton” (presumably so you don’t use them as a farmable food source) shows, in my opinion, a genuine lack of empathy for the villagers which they seem entirely willing to extend towards animal mobs. even if it is to “not disrupt/restrict how players play”, there HAVE been changes to the game that affect common gameplay experiences like the XP farming caps and i think some changed redstone mechanics that affected certain builds. mojang and microsoft *could* change how villagers work mechanically, and are simply choosing not to.
i really need “villagers from minecraft are antisemetic caricatures” to become a popular enough sentiment for them to finally change their designs somehow

I think the already grown up ghasts should get to be happy too. Like a more complex & careful version of saving the dried ghasts. Just because they’re used to their world being literal hell doesn’t mean it has to be like that forever, they deserve to be saved too after being in pain for so long.
You lead them into the Overworld and they become neutral mobs. You can’t tame them, at least not like a ghastling, but you can feed them snow blocks and they kinda follow you around (in a totally discreet and not at all clingy way) and kill mobs & players that are attacking you.
This is not an allegory for anything in any way and I am a perfectly well adjusted individual
i understand we cant be perfect in this, and microsoft has wormed its way into almost every aspect of our lives so its not like we can just cut all ties with a single mouse click, but like. you dont need that that video game.
BDS is specifically focusing a target on XBOX and is requesting people participate in the following tiers of engagement:
1. cancel game pass subscriptions
2. avoid spending time/money on candy crush, Minecraft and call of duty
3. boycott all Microsoft gaming products, including Xbox branded consoles and accessories AND any Microsoft owned publishing labels
Bare minimum you should be able to cancel a game pass subscription, but I think we can all try to push for a level 3 participation. BDS specifically requests people avoid Bethesda in their list of Microsoft owned publishers.
This is a specific request of a targeted boycott, which has a higher chance of success. It’s nearly impossible to avoid products from all companies involved in the genocide, but we can focus on specific targets with specific demands and help push Microsoft to divest.
