I was at some random show that my camp roomates at Muddy Roots took me and i started seeing people in the pit dancing/mushing and what not, enjoying the show, smoking, laughing and
Some of them just looked so much like my dead friends
I swear i was seeing some of my deceased friends dancing and bumming smokes I even tried blinking in a way like i was in a bad dream but they felt
So
Fucking
Real
I swear i could’ve touched them
I started thinking about how it was more than probable that everyone in that crowd at that moment probably lost a friend (at some point)
And the thought of all our dead friends smoking dancing mushing together
It made me very emotional for all the lost souls
But then i realized the souls weren’t lost
They were here with us.
So i wrote this song called Good Grief
Thinking about grief and how it was such a big theme for me at that moment, in that festival Thinking about Léo, Mick, Steve, Sam, all the people that didnt make it to the pit. Grief and death can be such a heavy subject but I think that I made it maybe a bit more light with this song.
So i dedicate this to all our lost ones
Check up on your friends
Were all in this fucking shit together so even though we wont make it out alive, it's nice to think that were gonna spend this journey through love and care.
