i do think Lovely Day is a lovely little feel good song, but what’s more important is Bill Withers was allowed to do whatever the fuck he wanted after delivering one of the most utterly heart wrenching break-up songs of all time on his goddamn debut album. this isn’t even a single or a hit or anything. it’s just side B track one on Just As I Am and if you wanna talk about being uncomfortable as Bill fucking Withers holds a note, listen to the way he sings the word “gone” on this absolute killer of a song.

  • overused and becoming outdated
  • does not reference the hit Oasis song.
  • invites people to use the “where’s the essay, OP?” response. essays are long and tedious and would often just be repeating what you made clear in the original post
