I checked the date on the original post and it's December 11, 2021. That was the day after I came home from college, immediately after the semester where I had a breakdown that collapsed my health into chaos and dissolved my identity and goals.

that is a significant issue that the original post did not raise at all. criticisms of ai should engage with those significant issues, rather than just treating ai as innately wicked so that they end up saying dumb shit about superstimuli or the yadda yadda of the human soul.

I’ve never really done anything like this before. I just wanted to make a comic based on the greatest post on this website and I wanted it to become more and more detailed as it went along. It took me a little over a year to finish and it was all made without using a tablet.

In case anyone doesn't know, there's a great story behind this. Years ago, someone went on the Fallen London subreddit to lament that they had made a mistake while attempting to buy some number of weasels, accidentally misclicking and purchasing 500 weasels at once.
This weasel-afflicted player wanted to know if one of the developers could undo the purchase or give them back the substantial amount of in-game money they'd unintentionally spent on all those extraneous mustelids.
One of the devs responded to the post, on their lunch break and slightly drunk. They could not undo the purchase or refund the player, but they did go in and slap together a brand new event in the game that triggers when a player comes to possess 400 or more weasels, the text of which can be seen in the original post.
Aside from being hilarious, this event also bestows a unique quality on the weasel owner, which in Fallen London is worth far more than mere in-game currency. In the years since, further evolutions of this unique quality have been introduced for owning 400 of the game's other, more expensive varieties of weasel.
Yet another reason Fallen London is one of my favourite games.

all goofing aside I genuinely don't understand the urge to reimagine Taylor Allison Swift as a secretly queer icon when the pop music scene(TM) is like. literally overflowing with women who actually like women. Gaga and Kesha and Miley and Halsey are right there. Rina Sawayama and Hayley Kiyoko and Rebecca Black and Kehlani and Victoria Monét and Miya Folick if you're willing to get slightly less top 100. Janelle and Demi for them nonbinary takes on liking girls. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't enjoy Taylor but why would you hang all your little gay hopes on her.
