In The Night 02:31
Top of the hour I can barely breathe It’s hard to process that you’re here with me And I know that you don’t believe in long distance But baby when the stars align And we have the time I can show you why You want me so badly Just a little, just a little at a time I keep slipping, slipping out of line I don’t know enough To know what to do in this situation Yeah Yeah In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night they come for me In the night, in the night, in the night She’s driving me crazy In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night they come for me In the night, in the night, in the night She’s driving me crazy In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night, in the night In the night, in the night

The Line 02:21
Has it been too long? Didn’t even notice all the time gone Something has to change Gotta find a way to be fair to you Without having to give you away Is it just the way I am or is it fate? Lucky stars aren’t very good at keeping up with guessing games But I can’t be the only one who feels this way So I hesitate a second, baby Long enough and now you got me Sitting in my room It’s just the thought of you and what we do tonight That keeps her off my mind (Closer now) I’m a little bit (Closer now) Too close, too quick (Closer now) Isn’t this just what we always wanted from the start? So tell me Where’s the line between a friend and a lover? Is it just the way I am or is it fate? Lucky stars aren’t very good at keeping up with guessing games But I can’t be the only one who feels this way So I hesitate a second, baby Long enough and now you got me The line in the sand I drew as deep as I can Will surely never withstand The next big wave that comes

Anything 01:57
When all the lights go out I’ll be there So you don’t stub your toe And I’d do anything I’d do anything Anything for you Anything for you Anything for you When you’re tired in the morning And you can’t get out of bed I’ll make you breakfast Anything that you can think of And I’d do anything I’d do anything (Anything for you) I’d do anything Anything for you
4.
I think it’s happening again And it was only a matter of time If I decide to let you in Then it’s too late for me to change my mind Oh, oh Maybe it’s just the way the air feels today But I could always smell the rain before it falls Tornado skies says it all So if I wake up tomorrow and you’re gone Please Leave me a note So I don’t get worried Just like the very first sip of water In the morning I need your love To soothe my heart And I probably shouldn’t say this But when I look deep inside me I know One day the water must run dry (I know) How hard it is to see a friendship die (I know) How it feels to know what to do But never really know why (I know) I’ll come around again real soon and (I know) You’re always there for me when I come through and (I know) It’s not about what we deserve But who we grow into I can’t escape my mind No matter how I try The memories I hide are haunting

You’re a star They write songs about you And everyone knows who you are (You’re a star) I can see you But you’re so far Mesmerize me from the stage With the way you move The way you groove And the things you say Nothing can stop me I’m pushing up So I maybe can see clearly And I could swear She’s looking all around me How am I supposed to be with you? Won’t you find me after the show? You’re a star They write songs about you And everyone knows who you are (You’re a star) I can see you But you’re so far And I can tell from the look in her eyes She’s got a lover, probably some guy But when she sings how am I not supposed to dream? Maybe a shooting star will grant my wish for me

about

After teasing fans with a series of tracks over the past few months, Queer-Latino singer-songwriter and producer Saving Miles Lemon finally drops their long-anticipated EP ‘You’re A Star’, on Amsterdam-based label Frequency Music. This five-part record takes listeners on a journey through a dreamy landscape of passion and possibility, highlighting the artist’s raw take on the different phases of universal love and queer romance.

As a queer Latino person in the US, Saving Miles Lemon aims to showcase voices that are seldom heard, focusing on the beauty and uniqueness in underrepresented groups. Describing themselves as a ‘compulsive romantic’, the singer-songwriter depicts the rush of romantic relationships in this ethereal pentalogy. Their distinguished psychedelic sound blends indie rock and electronic elements to create eccentric soundscapes, embellished with their emotive vocals and emotional lyrics. Accompanied by a series of eclectic music videos directed, produced and created by an all-womxn team, today’s release marks the artists’ first EP with independent record label Frequency.

Saving Miles Lemon has already garnered early buzz, with features on the EQ Music blog and The Bridge 90.9FM, which also published an exclusive interview with them as Artist of the Week. Additionally, they’ve received editorial playlist support from Apple Music’s New in Indie, further solidifying them as a rising voice in the indie-pop and queer music spaces.

The inaugural track, ‘In The Night’, tackles the push and pull of long distance relationships, the grey space that arises when you reunite with a far-away partner. ‘Anything’ is a more vulnerable track, expressing deep affection and care for their loved one, while ‘The Line’ underscores the confusion that often goes hand-in-hand with developing relationships. The next offering, ‘Hidden Inventory’ voices hesitation and fear, the rollercoaster of emotions that hide beneath the surface while nurturing a deeper connection. And finally, the EP’s title track, ‘You’re A Star’ encapsulates the storm of feelings that follow love at first sight, closing off this retro-inspired record with a glimmer of hope.
