Speaking of plurality, now that the other me is playing FFXIV with people I noticed something interesting.
When playing various games we have some degree of shared muscle memory, which probably should not be surprising.
But the interesting part is that in this one instance it's not all the way there even after adopting my hotkey setup. The most apparent part is that she keeps forgetting she has a mount even though I never do (should learn soon enough though).
Another interesting bit is that she's not really sure which class to play since she wants to go into one that fits her best. She started out as a conjurer (which promotes to white mage) so she could focus on healing but didn't like the druidish nature-user angle of it. I probably should have told her it was like that.
Meanwhile, I am predictably a dark knight main.

Yuris superior to yaoi because women are more interesting and attractive, people should stop being fujoshi and start being himejoshi
Being put on a pedestal where you are Absolutely Nothing Like Men (violent and perverted subhumans) because you are a woman instead is not just still sexism it is just the logical conclusion of the most basic traditional sexism we all grew up with.
Just treat women as human beings instead of as just opposites of men (complimentary).
Also I am 100% a pervert and proud of it and I don’t think it’s any better or worse when I do it than when a man does it.
This is reminding me of a blatantly untrue myth people on this site used to share when trying to describe the popularity and appeal of yaoi, which is that it allows women to get more progressive romance stories because in a gay relationship there’s no sexist power dynamics.
But that raises questions like “Why not yuri then? Why is that not nearly as popular?” or “But haven’t you noticed that a lot of yaoi goes out of its way to have toxic power dynamics regardless? Like with the whole omegaverse thing?”
Just seemed like an excuse to avoid admitting the simpler explanation even though it’s completely fine: They just find the men hot.
It would be nice to reclaim transfeminism from the people who are fixated on how throwing slurs at nonbinary people is supposedly liberating.
Cultures evolving and changing is morally neutral and a normal consequence of just existing at all in a world with shifting conditions and values. This isn’t inherently bad in the first place. You can probably even think about at least 3 aspects of your culture that you’d like to change.
For example, I would like it if the role of paterfamilias died out for real. There’s still a lot of fathers out there who treat their wife and children like their property.
I would also like it if society was a little bit less sexist but whenever I say that someone shows up talking about how their emotional support sexism is actually super valuable and must be maintained. This has happened more than once.
Me when I don’t understand that gender is a tool of widespread social coercion that people (especially trans people) are currently punished for deviating from to the point where some conversion therapy methods involve trying to coerce trans people into conforming to their assigned gender and medical gatekeepers sometimes treat non-conformity as evidence that someone is a fake trans who should not have access to HRT.
