Interaction witnessed at post office today:

Elderly lady mail clerk and young customer are chatting. Customer says, “oh! I’m wearing my boss’s coat right now, give me something weird to put in the pocket!” Others within earshot all start looking for something because, hey, important quest. Mail clerk finally reaches under counter, pulls out a large roll of labels, and tears one off.

The Star of Losers

image

The brightest star is the one that doesn’t give up shining.

Rest in peace, Haru Urara.

———–

Just as I finished the Grass Wonder piece, Haru Urara sadly passed away on September 8th.

As it’s been so beautifully said, she was The Shining Star of Losers Everywhere.

About the illustration: it’s simple, but the idea was that she ran on grass, she was a star, so let’s hope she reaches the sky. It ended up like that…

I’m not sure I followed my own notes on improving, but I did finish it fairly quickly by my standards.

I tried using materials for the grass and leaves. It turned out terrible at first, I think I managed to salvage the grass, but the leaves… not so much. It felt limiting to use those materials, but I didn’t want to draw each leaf by hand. I’m lazy…

Anyway, I still have a lot of Uma I want to draw (already sketched 3 more illustrations), but I think I’ll shift focus to other works for now. I don’t want to burn out, gotta diversify a bit.

Like I said in my last post, I’ll probably share some OC work, and for fanart, there are quite a few pieces I want to revisit.

Also… I really should get back to studying, but I keep putting it off.

As always, thank you for your time. I hope you have a lovely day.

Now I can only hope that the Gold Ship doesn’t leave us too quickly…

P.S. I quite like the bandana.
