Hi anon! Sorry for the super late reply. Everything I know about this hbo show is against my will and I haven’t been following the news closely, but I’m really sorry to hear that. I can definitely relate to the feeling of increasing disappointment and disconnect. Unfortunately I haven’t read any fic recently - HP or otherwise. I’ve been finding great refuge in books and am tracking my reads here.
My engagement with other fandoms (MCU, Kingsman, SPN, 007 etc) is pre-covid so any recs I could share are probably a bit dated now, I’d have to dig into my old ao3 profile to share some titles with you. I’d suggest checking authors like Astolat and spqr, as they write for a variety of fandoms and I’m sure the quality is always excellent. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful - I’ve been really off my game this year, and after a few months I’m a bit heartbroken to realize that I may never get back to reccing. I hope my followers can share some tips and that you can find joy and a safe space in fandom again 🤍 take care xo

You are incredible and wonderful at providing captivating recs and rec lists. I find myself wondering what fics you would suggest to us from the various fests — most particularly the All Things Teddy one as there was a particularly delicious Teddy x Harry entry.

Sadly things are still pretty hectic on both work & personal fronts and I haven’t read a fic in months :( I barely had the chance to advance on my book reading (which I’ve been trying to prioritize this year) and that makes me really sad. I wish I could give you a more encouraging answer but the truth is that right now I don’t know when or in what capacity I’ll be able to come back to fandom. I need to take some time off to rest and see if I can re-connect with reading and reccing. In any case I still check Tumblr every now and then, so I appreciate your message! Thank you for thinking of me 💜

Thanks for checking in, anon! Rio is doing really well all things considered, no further seizures since last time and his body has finally adapted to the new medication, so I don’t feel like crying every time I look at him anymore :,)
As for me, I’ve been extremely busy at work and it’s taking a toll on my body. I just came back from a business trip and feel dead on my feet and ready to sleep until next month lol I was saving my vacation days for Sep-Oct but I might take some time off in July bc I’m just too tired to even enjoy summer properly. This year has been a lot so far but I’m hanging in here :) I hope you’re taking care of yourself too ❤️

Thank you, anon! Yes and no lol, I’m doing okay just haven’t been feeling fandom lately. I can’t pinpoint when it all started, my fandom energy has been pretty low in the past year and I didn’t bounce back after my vacation break in February. I considered adding an “hiatus” note on my bio, but I still check Tumblr every now and then (my BL sideblog is running on queue, and I’m always happy to respond asks but it may take a while to get to them), I just prefer not to post anything during this time. The lack of inspiration always hits hard - there’s so much I’d like to read and rec! But I’m just doing my best to respect the process and enjoy other hobbies in the meantime. I’m sure it’s just a temporary detox and I’ll come back when the time is right 😊 I hope you’re taking care of yourself!

Thank you, anon! No pressure felt on my end, I promise. I’ve decided to live one day at a time and re-direct my energy to the things that are bringing me joy atm. And it’s been a fairly fun and healing process, if I’m honest! I’ve been reading a lot, also working a lot and spending more quality time with my dogs and my friends. I took several fandom breaks over the years so it’s a familiar feeling that I know how to navigate. I do miss the tumblr energy though! They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, so I’m sure this is only temporary and I’ll feel the pull to come back at some point 😊 thanks again and I hope you’re taking care of yourself, too!
