What appears to be going on with ORV Mithra/Mitra/Mithras is that, before the story began, he hired Manu (clearly a lawyer) to represent him in a lawsuit against Christianity, won, and gained control of Jesus’s IP - which includes the username “Master of December 25th” and the “Myth-grade” status.

From a Doylist standpoint, something of this nature is necessary to avoid the implication that Yoo Joonghyuk might have - at some point - killed Jesus.

From a Watsonian standpoint, it’s really funny, because,

1) The Vedic Mitra’s most-famous myth is probably the one where he sees a hot lady and involuntarily ejaculates into a jar. He doesn’t have much going for him. Basically had no choice but to abuse copyright law.

2) Unlike Apollon’s, Surya’s username does not actually have the word “sun” in it. And Manu - who is generally considered to be Surya’s son - uses the words “the sun god” to describe Mithra. Did Manu help Mithra sue his own dad?

3) All of this raises another question: is the 《Vedas》 Nebula’s “Mithra” actually the Vedic Mitra? Or is he the Roman Mithras? Someone else? How many levels of identity theft is this guy on?

Does Athena have two usernames, or did someone else give Selena Kim the Aegis, or did Sing/Shong retcon Athena’s username later after deciding that she did not actually have a “conscience?”

ORV Loki’s Trick (Speculative):

  1. List own eyeball for sale on Dokkaebi Bag for 1,000,000 coins.
  2. Give Anna Croft a donation of 500,000 coins from your own pocket.
  3. When Odin or Thor asks why you just did that, tell them to get off your turf, you saw her first, etc. (Anna obviously makes appropriate use of this opportunity.)
  4. The rest of Asgard is thus goaded into “outbidding” you in order to get her to sign a joint sponsorship deal. She now has more than enough to buy “Great Demon’s Eye.”
  5. Profit! (500,000 minus whatever the dokkaebi commission fee is.)

Another possibility is that Loki paid the entire million themself and made no direct profit. Aside from temporarily having Anna entirely to themself, this maneuver could have been valuable for money laundering purposes.

In ORV no one is allowed to see the prophets’ stat screens because the skill that makes them “prophets” is just called “Can Read the Writing on the Wall”.

Can someone translate Cheok Jungyeong's article for English Wikipedia. Bonus if you add an "in popular culture/media" section that isn't just ORV (because Shingshong was definitely referencing something other than like 11th-century primary sources).

「Gilyoung is lacking skills persistence. If you have coins left, try to place them in ‘patience’ or 'indomitable persistence’. You can use the exchange or ask your sponsor to help you. 」

What happened to the Absolute Throne in Washington, DC… That’s where Selena Kim is from, and her stats window prominently displays the attribute “King’s Guardian (Hero)” when she first shows up, and KDJ says several times that she’s normally the one to obtain the “King of No Killing” attribute. So, the War of Kings did play out in DC.

Anna Croft would have had no qualms about using the Throne’s mind-control features, but 1) she might have known better than to mess with it, and 2) Selena might have gotten wary of her sooner if she had. Was Selena’s King someone else?

The one thing I’m sure of is that their Throne was just the Lincoln Memorial. They knocked him down.

Gunk-based foreshadowing of Secretive Plotter’s whole deal:

Some of Kyrgios’s dialogue suggests that his enlightenment/awakening has to do with a vague knowledge of what the Oldest Dream is. His answer to the question of “Why do the Scenarios exist?” gets much closer to the bone than Persephone’s or Asmodeus’s.

Was Biyoo doing a Toto thing where she could talk all along but just didn’t feel like it

Han Donghoon became a cop as a result of Kim Dokja’s parental negligence.

Oh, so Myung Ilsang was a “Solo Leveling” joke! Did not realize that.

“tls123” = “the long story 123”?

The way ORV’s “Incarnation bodies” seem to work is that the big-deal Constellations can spend Plausibility to “incarnate” an appropriate physical form for themselves (maybe without conscious control over the process?), while less-powerful ones Sponsor a compatible human and then “synchronize” with them.

This is definitely much cheaper - multiple relatively-weak Constellations keep it up for extended periods of time during the Kings’ War - but the Plausibility cost rises over time.

  • If the “synchronization” goes on long enough, does the person get entirely-overwritten and become just the Constellation’s “Incarnation body?” It seems logical, given the other consequences of Incarnations “overusing” their sponsoring Constellations’ Plausibility, but I can’t find it stated outright.
  • Is Asmodeus’s system of “inseminate a human who will give birth to an appropriate body” unusual? Or are a lot of other adult-rated Constellations are doing things like this, and we just don’t hear about it because Kim Dokja doesn’t want to think about it?
  • Indra has more than ten bodies at any given time, and the other gods make fun of him for it. Which of these methods is he using? Literary precedent makes any of the three plausible.
