POWER GEM is a webcomic about how five people’s lives can change on a journey to stop the apocalypse. It’s set in a terminally strange world, shrieking with magic and contaminated by meddling dead gods. Velloriand’s heart stopped beating long ago. Maybe our five can get it going again?

MAIN FIVE: 

SANDY of the Pickanick Boyz has just had her life turned on its head. Once the deputy sheriff of her goblin clan’s home, she’s had to adjust quickly to life on the road. Her beaming disposition and love for meeting new people gets her in trouble, but she’s quick at making decisions and knows she can always follow her heart. With newfound abilities and a shiny revolver in her boot, she feels like as long as she has her friends, she can take on the world! 

RAMONA Trollbane, the last daughter of the great Trollbane warlords, is determined to make her home proud. Travelling suits her just fine, and she’s loving the opportunities to put a lifetime of training to practical use - the only thing spoiling it are the memories of her past, following her like a spectre. Her family thinks she’s useless. Her friends think she’s uptight. She doesn’t know who she is, and no one told her how painful it really is to learn to be a person. 

FELIX Krause. His vampire father never did return to pick up his daywalking son, leaving him an orphan. No one at the convent had the words to explain to him what he was, or why he acted the way he did, or how to cope with feeling like he was CRAZY every day. Years of fighting his own corner have left him exhausted, but he retains a good, if venomous, sense of humour. Now that he’s got a bit of freedom, he’s feeling his self control waning, but what harm’s a little indulgence?

SYLVIA Illyamra spent most of her life in the twilight blue of Mantle City, with other cavern elves who couldn’t see the world through her lens. The solitude suited her fine - she had a cottage by the sea and a library of books - but her parents wanted more for her. The last straw was the arranged marriage.
