Where are we this week?

The Southwest Recovery Alliance is a grassroots organization dedicated to the implementation of evidence based public health strategies, policy transformation, and decreasing our reliance on carceral responses in Arizona.
We run a peer-led overdose and disease prevention program, offering life-saving and life-affirming services. Our overdose disease prevention program not only promotes safer practices and provides the supplies to do so, but also serves as a point of meaningful connection and empowerment for people who consume substances. At the end of the day, we want people to experience BIGG love while accessing the supplies they need, to prevent HIV, Hepatitis C, and overdose.
In conjunction with our direct service, SWRA hosts bi-monthly Community Nights. Our Community Nights increase opportunities for education, enrichment, and support for people who use our services, providing pro-social activities and education not only for our program participants but also for all community members who attend.

Our mission
Encourage and motivate the implementation of public health interventions and strategies, drug policy transformation, while decreasing our dependence on carceral responses in Arizona through direct action, leadership, advocacy, resource and policy development, and education.
What is harm reduction?
Harm Reduction emphasizes tolerance, respect for the personal choices of others and respect for human rights. It favors evidence over anecdote, courage over cowardice and doing what is right over what is state sanctioned. Our message is “We love you, and respect your dignity as a human being.” It means doing what has to be done to protect individual and community health in the face of opposition from all quarters.
