Do you guys think Grian ever forgot how fast Scar betrayed him in the Thirdlife finale?
Don't get me wrong, I fully believe that Grian has forgiven Scar. I believe Grian forgave Scar the moment Scar kneeled to Grian and agreed to give him the win.
But forgetting is harder than forgiving, and, well..Grian died yelling "After everything we've been through?!" , waking up after in a red haze with nothing but the knowledge that the only other person in his world just stabbed him in the back.
For what? A piece of paper? (more likely a tactical advantage, and that's..probably worse.)
Sure, Scar killed Bdubs. Sure, Scar was willing to let Grian just kill him afterwards. Sure, they had a fair duel in the end. It wasn't even a full betrayal in the end, Scar couldn't bring himself to actually just betray Grian. No harm no foul, right?
But don't you think maybe that moment- after everything we've been through- ran through his mind a few times since then? Scamming Scar out of a life in Lastlife, keeping Scar at an arms length in Doublelife, shooting Scar in the back in Limitedlife?
I don't think Grian's angry. I don't even think Grian is hurt (anymore). I don't even think Scar and Grian have much negative tension between them at all at this point. But I do think memories tend to..linger..in ways you don't expect them to. Even if you've long since forgiven (and paid it back). Even if it's a friend (especially if it's a friend).
