St Chocoton’s starting tomorrow! Another year of disregarding standard holidays to instead indulge in gratuitous sale candy, just like a big fat opossum
Blessed St Chocoton’s Feast!
In this holiday for opportunists, may your post-valentines treat sales be greater than 50%
I managed to find a strawberry and cream cupcake for sale to go with my strawberry chocolates for this Chocoton’s Feast (it did not go in my chocoton pouch, imagine the surprise goop all over my treats no thank you)
Tomorrow is the beginning of St Chocoton’s Feast, so I thought I’d make a short thread about celebrating it and the virtues of St. Chocoton: generosity, frugality, opportunism, prudence, and indulging your brief life to some good gorbage
This holiday is officially after Valentine’s (but also occurs after any holiday with a deluge of cheap, unwanted treats), and lasts vaguely for a week - intentionally flexible for you to find a day/days that best suit you to celebrate and time to find the best sales.
Aside from buying a bunch of cheap sale treats, we also make a space and some time to indulge ourselves dress in comfy, scruffy clothes - perhaps with an additional necklace or crown of crumpled colorful paper wads, like Chocoton’s own crown.
Keep all your treats in Chocoton’s Opossum Pouch - a bag that can add an element of surprise when you go to grab your treats, as well as keep them neatly in one place. Consider giving some small pouches of treats for others, too!
Make a nice fluffy space to chill in! Decorations can just be pillows and blankets, or you can add lights, colorful paper wad strings/paper chains, or cut outs of your fav scavenger critters. Save them for next year to avoid unnecessary waste (I keep mine in my Chocoton pouch)
Common themes of St Chocoton’s Feast to inspire some decorative ideas: opossums and other scavengers, inverted hearts (the symbol of Chocoton, reclaimed from the unwanted holiday treats), the moon/night, and of course chocolate and garbage.
Remember to keep your space tidy! (Unwanted) trash in your comfy places/environment in general can be harmful to health and add to stress. Opossums are very particular about being clean, groom extremely frequently, and reduce trash and pests in our shared environments.

Igdaf about Valentine’s day, so I’m making a new holiday based on the tradition of buying sale candy. It celebrates the values of the good Saint Chocoton, a fat opossum, and lasts an ambiguous 2-4 days from the 15th-19th
St Chocoton’s crest is an upside down heart - taken from the leftover Valentine’s day materials - which, of course, represents the butt. You can celebrate the holiday further by crumpling up colorful paper and arranging it festively in your house - to represent the gorbage - as well as going out at night and hissing at strangers!
