It’s been a huge year for Cloudheim. In 2025, the game was announced, launched into Closed Beta, moved into Open Beta, a demo at Steam Next Fest, and then finally landed in Early Access just two weeks ago.

Along the way, it has been an absolute joy meeting players and sharing Cloudheim at BitSummit, Gamescom, and Tokyo Game Show, plus getting to know so many more of you online.

Over the last two weeks alone, Cloudheim has received eight updates, including Frostfall, our winter event, Cross World XP, game pausing, multiple loot chests on Odin Shell, a brand new character named Hango, a reworked tutorial, a new player stats screen, and fixed loads of bugs. 

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this journey with us. We said we built Cloudheim for you, the players, and that promise has guided every step of the journey. Everyone at Noodle Cat started making games to bring joy to players, and seeing your excitement, feedback, and kind words has been the best reward imaginable.

Update 8 will be our last update of the year (probably, devs can always go rogue) as the team heads into Winter Break. We will still be around to answer questions and chat, but please note we will be slower to respond as we take some time to recharge before diving back into updates in January.

• Fixed most cases where your character is invisible or when the Appearance menu shows all characters greyed out. Please report it if you encounter it again so we can investigate!

• Added a warning on game start up if you are low on storage space, which might cause problems with autosaving

• If a corrupted or empty save is encountered, we now automatically restore the most recent autosave for that file

• Fixed some issues with the timing of applying cross world progression that could cause your level to appear to be reset until you traveled once

• Bosses can now drop a wide assortment of weapons and lockboxes

• Increased the drop rate of World Stars from bosses by 38%

• Looted event weapons no longer show up in your Bifrost Chest and make you claim them again, which was making it look like they could be sold

• Healing ice crystals in the Bauble Knight fight are now easier to break, and can be broken with evade

• Increased Jingle Bell drop rate in Frostfall Castle to 3x their previous rate, but they still have a much higher drop rate outside of the dungeon

• Visual polish on the Hollow Ice Skate and Grobb Express emotes

• Fixed an issue that could cause non-homing projectiles to go the wrong direction when used immediately after kicking an enemy that gets impulsed while it is still in its initial launch

• Spinning Ice Kick now gets a unique upgrade from Power Kick, instead of causing it to behave like an enhanced normal kick

• Fixed an issue where “Retrieve Collected Loot” on the Bifrost Chest didn’t do anything

• The Prospecting Site should now receive the same bonuses from the Mining Guild as Sky Materials with the Rock Jock upgrades

• The Garden Plot should now properly spawn higher value herbs and flowers with the Green Thumb upgrade

• Secret Chests can now be opened with hits from projectile weapons like Bows or Mining Daggers

• Bigshot's laser attack can no longer hit players through walls

• Fixed an additional case in which the final two chests and lasso shrine in Dustlanger would remain locked

• Properly fixed an visual issue in Dustlanger after the main questline’s completion

• Some art polish on Dustlanger

• Removed unexpected boss music from an area on Dustlanger with no boss fight

• Fixed a chest in the Cavern on Greenvor

• Improved the arrow spawn location for a few bows that were slightly offset

We've pushed an update with addresses some issues you've reported:

• Fixed an issue where Class Progression cosmetic rewards could duplicate, causing issues with earning Trust XP and bloating profile sizes (duplicates have been merged together, accumulating their Trust XP)

• Fixed an issue with world experience accumulation that could lead to world level outpacing player levels in co-op games

• Added a potential fix for low capped frame rates on AMD graphics cards

• Fixed a bug where the Dustwraith could do a killing attack on Normal difficulty

• Crafting XP now applies to World XP

• Adjusted the music playlist inside Frostfall Castle

• Fixed music so it loops properly in the “Winter Gift” emote

• Adjusted audio when shaking presents

• Torsten’s Frostfall Blessing now shows up in the pinned quest list inside Frostfall Castle

• Made the Festive Fireplace have 100% more fire

• Adjusted the intensity of some decorative lights in Frostfall Castle

• Reduced the frequency of error logging that could result in large log files

• Improved error handling for the Frostfall event

• Fixed a puzzle in Reflective Respite that could save incorrectly, blocking completion (affected players can now complete it by returning to the area)

• Fixed some cases preventing an encounter from spawning after quest completion in Dustlanger for blocked players, which prevented collecting two chests and a lasso shrine

• Fixed an visual issue in Dustlanger after the main questline’s completion

• Gave a certain character on Odin Shell animations

• Fixed an issue with Grobb Statues blocking progression in Withered Ruins

• Fixed a few places where you could get out of the world during the tutorial

• Fixed an issue with scrolling on controllers in the Settings menu

• Fixed "Show Number Pops" setting

• Fixed a chest in Greenvor that wasn't searchable

• Fixed the fishing area at Lions Claim on Arcadia
