i love it in concept, but my steam deck chugs this game even on the lowest settings, and the cutscenes didn't work. i will repurchase when i have a better device

I had SO much fun with this game, and I think it deserves a lot more traction!
I am surprised to read it was created by a solo developer, very impressive stuff.

It is very unique and I absolutely adored the premise of it. I really felt the 90s vibes, and each movie truly did transport you (heh) and immerse you.
Each tape offered something new, I loved the changing environments and how the door teleported you to each one - very cool animation, kind of reminds me of Hellraiser & I was always excited to change tape to see that animation again LOL

Some very very cool enemy designs in this game, and I enjoyed the back tracking you had to do between each tape, it made the game feel very fleshed out.

The fact that each tape also came with its own short film was super fun, and I love the effort that was put into it.
I enjoyed the puzzles (even if I got stuck on one or two of them), and unravelling the storyline between the tapes was also interesting. The combat and inventory management was nice and straight forward. The weapon designs were very cool too... This whole game is just COOL.

One complaint I have would be that the main enemy that hunts you between tapes can get a bit annoying sometimes when you're lost or trying to work out a puzzle, but there are ways to avoid her if you are strategic. I tend to lose focus a lot and forget where i've been/where I was supposed to go - so I found myself a little frustrated at times when she would send me off track, but honestly that could be more a me problem, but worth mentioning!

I highly recommend this game, especially if you are a horror movie fan, this game is so fun & I haven't played anything that encapsulates the spooky vibe quite like this! Some nice nods to other titles in the horror genre too which I appreciated.
