EA had the problem of having a good series
The solution: Kill it with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

EA then had the problem of no one buying this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
The solution: Force me to buy it with the actually good games in the series.

I had the problem of having to play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a bit of time before I could negative review it
The solution: Pull up the launcher and let it sit in the background while looking at memes.


In reality I played it back on release because I loved the series. It was terrible then just like it's terrible now. Respawning in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RTS?! Who the ♥♥♥♥ even thinks of that? The massive army vs army fights are gone because the cheapest unit in the game is like 3 pop for 1 dude and a max of 60 supply. 20 basic riflemen max does not make for any sense of scale in any RTS. Gone is base building as well (my favorite aspect of every command and conquer) unless you use one specific configuration that then locks you out of most of the units.

This was ass down to a conceptual level. Executed perfectly (which this wasn't) this game would still be bad.

Plus the humanization of the protagonist commander of the campaign was super jarring and terrible feeling. Being canonically married to a character that has no charisma and comes across like a huge ♥♥♥♥♥ is not a way to humanize a character that people will like.
