I don't understand how Valerie became the Soul Reaper. She was killed during the ambush of the academy so was it still the academy's doing? Yet it looks like she serves Magnus (if you beat her at first encounter), but in that case how did he manage to corrupt her? Is Mangus capable of manipulating souls at distance?...
