Pinball licensing is a blessing and a curse. Without the Worms IP this would probably have one-tenth as many reviews, but they would all be positive. I played the Worms games back when using a home computer was considered a hobby. I didn't find them particularly interesting or fun (I preferred Lemmings), and I would never buy any of them. Similarly I don't expect most people buying a bundle of Worms games to enjoy or even understand pinball in 2025 (whereas in 1998, far more (adult) people could be expected to have played pinball than to have used a home computer).

If you are a pinballer, however, you can expect to get between 2 and 2000 hours of quality joy from this table, just like any other fun and well made (virtual) machine, and at $2 on sale it costs less than a single credit at an arcade.

There are plenty of interesting things to do, reasonably good (if quirky) physics, separate local leaderboards for different difficulties, and a tournament mode. It's technologically comparable to the contemporaneous Pro Pinball (e.g. Timeshock!) series. It doesn't quite reach those heights, but it's in the ballpark as a satisfying pinball simulation, rather than a shallow cash grab.

Sure, it's an old game, but with marginal effort you can pick (and tweak) a shared Steam controller layout and, if you squint, it will feel surprisingly close to playing on modern platforms like Pinball FX or Zaccaria, minus the high resolution, online features, achievements and superfluous modes. The table design here is arguably just as good or better than some of the less successful tables on those platforms. The transparent centered DMD seems like a terrible choice until you get used to it and then you may find you wish the option were available in all pinball games. Worth full price if you are an aficionado of (virtual) pinball and know what to expect from games of the era.
