Eight Below is a drama/action movie that debuted on February 17, 2006. It is based off of the Japanese film 'Antarctica', which was released in 1983. Eight Below received many reviews, the majority being critical acclaim from film professionals and connoisseurs.

Eight Below follows the story of eight sleigh dogs, who work for the American Antarctica research team. In 1993, a storm hits the continent, and the humans are forced to retreat to civilization. The dogs are left in Antarctica, as there is no room on the helicopter for them. The film is about the eight dogs' struggle for survival in one of the most barren and harsh places in the world.

"Dropleton" sounds like an English water detective, but believe it or not, it's a state of matter! Yup, just like solids and liquids, dropleton is unique. If you had to compare it to a more well-known state of matter, you would compare it to liquid. This is because it behaves like a liquid (hence the name "dropleton"), the only differences being that it only exists for about 25 picoseconds and is as wide as the world's smallest bacteria. So what is it made of? Dropletons are actually clusters of electrons in a semiconductor that behave like liquid. They are classified as quasiparticles (and sometimes called "quantum particles" although we all like the English detective analogy much more, I'm sure we can all agree, as it seems much more likeable than "quantum particle", indeed). It's hard to believe that these even exist, but with the great scientists in the modern world, it's no surprise that even the smallest things like dropletons were found (even if they weren't trying to find them). In fact, they were first discovered in 2014--just three years ago! It is unknown whether there are larger, maybe star-sized dropletons out there in the universe, just waiting to bust even the biggest of crimes and hoaxes in the dark streets of England. However, that would contradict the meaning of a "quantum" droplet (although the term "dropleton" is much better). Only the future will tell us what will become of these peculiar little investigators!
