This is a friendly reminder that registrations for the Do Gaming Championships close tomorrow, the 8th of September at 23:55. By registering you are confirming that if you qualify for the event, you can and will attend. If your team have qualified but do not register, your spot will be given to the next team in line.

To register and confirm, please follow these steps:

1) Select your game of choice here: http://www.dogamingleague.co.za/gamelist.php
2) In the navigation menu on the right hand side of the page, select "Confirm Attendance".
3) Select the button that is marked "Join". NB: Only managers can enter their respective teams. If you are not the manager of your team, you will not see this button.

Please make sure you read the instructions on the registration page carefully.

Good morning Folks! Some of you may have noticed that the Telkom Do Gaming Championships has a ticket in the Dota 2 Store! This is a HUGE step forward for the South African eSport scene and it places our local teams on the world stage for all to witness!

From the 4th to 6th of October the top 20 South African Dota 2 eSport teams will converge at the Coca-Cola Dome to compete for their share of R150,000 worth in prizes, sponsored by Steelseries, Alienware and Telkom Internet.

The Telkom Do Gaming League has also sponsored the flights and accommodation for Congo & Noxville, who will be providing you all with some top quality casting and streaming at the event itself. The two will cast the matches they cover, as well as stream them (for those of you who can’t get an in-game ticket, or prefer watching via stream). We will also be making use of our other excellent casters for the matches which our main casting team cannot get to (two days of non-stop Dota 2 action).

Our second place finishers from the Black Ops 2 (Blops 2) Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) Winter Leg, iM`Blops 2, retired from the DGL sometime earlier today. Do Gaming has yet to hear from anyone from Immersion, but upon further investigation has found a new side on the team Immersion Page, iM`CMStorm RAGE.

This newly formed Immersion side as it stands fields four of the iM`Resurrection side so far, being: Nuno “Krait” Da Silva, Dylan “Sc0rCh” Steed, Gokalp “SnuffeliN” Yalcin and Luciano “DaRe” Lasagni. Their fifth member comes from the retired iM`Blops 2 side, and is none other than Ashley “KoekzoR” Bierman.
The Black Ops 2 DGL 2013 is sponsored by Megarom.
This gives us our full side for the Do Gaming Championships (DGC) early next month, and the mixture of experience and youth on the newly formed Team Immersion side could be a formidable force in our highly contested League.

Libtery (LiB) and oldschool (OS) went head to head last night for the battle of the top of the group in the Dota 2 Telkom Do Gaming League (DGL) 2013 Winter Leg Premier Playoffs and saw LiB take the win 2 – 0 to give them the prime spot in the Playoffs.

The teams had something of a close first match in the early stages but Riaan ‘DoMz’ Visser put in a stellar performance in his solo mid role with Shadow Fiend to finish the game 11 – 1 with a game-high gold per minute (GPM) of 638. Joined by Naga Siren, Nature’s Prophet, Gyrocopter and Jakiro, some could have said it was a rather greedy line-up but LiB were able to make it work for them, taking down OS with an end score of 25 – 15 in just over 35 minutes.

The other game between the two teams saw a rather quick one with LiB picking up a support Spirit Breaker as well as a really farmed-up Luna and Dragon Knight. Visser put in a great performance once more, finishing 13 – 1 on the Dragon Knight and a combined team kills score of 27 to OS’s six. The 20 minute game spelled the end of the series for OS as they now settle for second place in the group with a few more games to go.

It may not be the end yet for OS though as they still sit on 10 points with only two more games remaining. Two wins for them will push them up to 16 points by the end of the Playoffs while LiB will be looking to keep their first place hopes alive with just two more games themselves.

There are still a number of games left to be played in the Premier Playoffs with an impending cut-off date coming very soon on Tuesday 3 September. Teams like NSD and SSG Tsotsi still have a way to go with more matches before they can look at targeting the top half of the table.

Gamers looking to take their place at the 2013 Telkom Do Gaming Championships this year at the rAge Expo over 4 - 6 October will need to confirm their attendance through the DGL website.

On the DGL website, players will need to head to their game in question and click the button marked “Confirm Attendance”. This does not mean you automatically qualify for the event. It merely means that you are available and will make yourself available for the event, should you qualify for the game in question.

When the Championships were announced, the team breakdown for the Championships was listed and has been again for those who may have missed it:

• Call of Duty Black Ops 2 sponsored by Megarom Interactive & Alienware: 16 teams
• Call of Duty 4 sponsored by Telkom: 8 teams
• Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sponsored by Telkom: 8 teams
• Dota 2 sponsored by SteelSeries & Alienware: 20 teams
• FIFA sponsored by Telkom: 48 players
• Quake Livesponsored by Telkom: 8 players
• League of Legends sponsored by Razer & Alienware: 16 teams
• StarCraft 2 sponsored by Coolermaster & Alienware: 24 players

For information on whether or not you will qualify for the DGC, you need to head over to the game’s specific rule page. It is a general rule of thumb that the Premier Division for each game has qualified for the DGC and the games with more space for teams have included a few from the First Division or the Playoffs.

If your team has missed qualification by a few spots, it’s advisable to sign up for the attendance confirmation just in case. If there are a number of teams that are unable to make the DGC, then the next teams in line will be able to fill that spot. If you don’t sign up for the confirmation of attendance, you will not be given a spot at the Championships.

Please also bear in mind that the 2013 Telkom Do Gaming Championships start on Friday 4 October at 14:00. So if you have been invited and qualify, be sure to take leave from work or school.
