I'm leaving this review even though I don’t have a ton of hours on the PC version – but I’ve been playing Wuthering Waves on mobile since day one, and I absolutely love that progress carries over between PC and mobile using the same account. That kind of cross-platform integration is a huge win.

I’m currently level 55 with multiple 5-star characters and weapons unlocked through progression, so I’ve had plenty of time to understand what makes this game great.

The story is solid and constantly evolving since it’s a live service game with regular updates and improvements. The world is massive and beautifully designed, with a rich anime-style aesthetic. Each character has their own distinct flair and combat style, which keeps battles fresh and interesting.

What really stands out is the open-world exploration – there’s always something to do, from main story quests with stunning cinematic cutscenes (feels like playing through a high-quality anime) to side missions, events, challenges, and even mini-games scattered across the map that reward you with upgrade materials for your characters and weapons.

Progression is well thought out – upgrading your characters and gear requires you to actively explore, hunt enemies, and take on bosses for materials. It’s rewarding and never feels like a chore.

Performance-wise, I was impressed with how well the game ran on my ROG Phone (16GB RAM) – smooth and visually stunning. But on PC, it’s a whole other level. The graphics are breathtaking and the combat feels even more fluid.

In my opinion, Wuthering Waves delivers one of the best action-combat systems in this genre. It’s dynamic, responsive, and incredibly satisfying. If you're looking for an anime-style open-world RPG with great storytelling, impressive visuals, waifu characters, exploration, and an addictive combat system – this is it.

And with upcoming collaborations (like the one with Cyberpunk announced for 2026), the future looks even more exciting.
