Great concept, not so great execution. There's only so many times I can be jumpscared by the same enemy jumping at me behind a door, watch random bodies being flung around in an attempt to be scary and hearing the same dude laugh in my ear. Did I mention imps love to spawn behind you, like a lot?
On top of that, the BFG edition changed a lot of things, and had I known this before reaching the 20th level, I wouldn't have played this version.
Guns also feel very weak. You have to be one inch away from an enemy's head to 1 hit kill enemies with the super shotgun, for example. But grenades? Grenades have a life of their own, and a lot of times they probably will bounce back right in your face.
A horror DOOM sounded very interesting, but DOOM 3 is more of a comedy than anything. It looks fine, atmosphere is not too shabby.
