This game is amazing. Perfect game if you like both the progression of Terraria and the building of Minecraft. There is a lot more detail you can put into the builds and the combat is fun (although admittedly a little janky at times, I am looking at you slopped combat).
The game will continue to be updated hopefully for a long time and the community will continue to make mods which I highly recommend trying out some mods. Although I do suggest to play the game without mods first and do all the bosses and then doing a modded playthrough. However to each his own.

Edit: Mistlands Update
Definitely the best update yet. The mistlands is difficult for inexperienced players although not impossible, preparation is key. The new content is amazing and gives the game in my opinion some needed difficulty, although at times the punishment seems too great.

8.5/10 game. Fun with friends or solo. Building is really fun and combat is great although could be enhanced/changed for sure.
