My favorite Shmups on Steam
The Tale of Alltynex (Alltynex Second is the best but all three games are excellent.)
Jamestown (One of the very first shmups on Steam and still one of the best. Finally updated too.)
Astro Tripper (Another early Steam shmup. Very unique mechanics. Criminally underrated.)
Raiden IV (Has a stupid bug that prevents offline play. GOG's version might be the one to get.)
Armed Seven (Astro Port has several good shmups on Steam now. This is my favorite of theirs.)
Deathsmiles (Wonderful gothic setting and artwork. Cave's games are legendary for good reason.)
Jets 'n' Guns Gold (The most popular Euroshmup on Steam. A bit too chaotic for me but still great.)
Revolver360 (Damned difficult 2.5D bullet hell that looks and sounds fantastic.)
Rheum (Uniquely grotesque downward-scrolling bullet hell with an end goal at the human sphincter.)
Danmaku Unlimited 2 and 3 (Awesome high-energy doujin shmups with deep score systems.)

Hey Mudo. I wanted to leave a response on your profile page but comments are disabled, so I'll leave it here and hopefully you see it.

I have to restrict new Steam friend adds right now because having too many actually causes problems in a lot of games that use Steamworks. For example Defense Grid 2 is currently unplayable for me because the game pings your entire Steam friends list every few seconds, and for people with a lot of Steam friends that creates a lag spike with every ping.

So eventually I need to pare down my list by a couple hundred people at least, but for now I just can't make the problem worse. Very sorry and thanks for reaching out at least.

Thanks to your protondb report, I was able to reseaech how to get The Bard's Tale ARPG working flawlessly, as a Linux and Steam Deck noob. Thank you.
