A spooktacular experience from start to finish! 👻

Highly recommended if you have any interest in the paranormal, Salem history and Witch Trials or even just seeking something unique to play because let's face it - how many games give you the chance to play a ghost?!! Or the option to possess people and read their thoughts or take control of a cat? And meow?? Okay there is one involving a cat but forget that. Pfft, that cat ain't got nothing on my black cat which we all know are the master race of cats. Anyway, you can also walk through walls, see things from the past, talk to other spirits and help some of them move on and find collectables all around that aren't just pointless but actually shine light on things or even tell short, ghost stories of their own.

The game isn't really scary (and there's no jumpscares), though I don't think it's trying to be. There are demons that try to eat you but you can turn them off pretty much with a little file tinkering (look it up). They're just annoying.

It leaves a little to be desired I guess because messing with people isn't very fleshed out and some NPCs repeat the same lines (thoughts) and it would've been cool to be able to actually control the people you're possessing but fair enough the game is more about the story/adventure and less about sandboxing or getting creative.

Still it's enough to satisfy the fantasy of playing as a ghost, though I suspect we'll all get to one day.

The game is a little buggy and rough around the edges like sometimes I'd get stuck in a menu and have to restart the game or many times things that you've already encountered/interacted with would reappear (e.g. NPC ghosts you've helped) and interacting with them would mean restarting the game again or possessing an NPC to bypass a barrier would mean having to reload a checkpoint because the NPC bugged out (had to toggle V-sync on or off) - basically some softlocks and jank. There was some performance issues too but messing with some of the video settings fixed that mostly (still had the odd stutter here and there).

I really enjoyed getting all the achievements. They were all fun, even the collectables.
I enjoyed being in the world and learning more about it. The atmosphere was pretty great.

The story was pretty awesome with a really nice twist. I loved it.

If any of that sounds good to you then yeah, I definitely recommend it, even at full price.
