Hope you find the patience in yourself to give it another shot despite the ramblings of everyone below; It's a great story.
This game will not be for everyone and that's not an insult. You will be reading a lot and all the action happens in narrated sequences instead of turn-based or twitch combat.
The game should appeal heavily to people who loved all the deep narrative and reading in 'Planescape: Torment' as it feels very similar but without the now vastly-outdated combat system.
I might get this in a year or so, when the full game edition is out and the community is less "you don't like this so something is wrong with you"
