Black hole is a region in space that sucks everything in, including light, gases and mass. By deforming spacetime (a mathemetical model that combines space and time into one model) using an extremely compact mass (for example an apple that weighs a billion kg while still having the size of an apple). The black nature of the black hole is inherited because of its ability to absorb all light that hits it, no reflection at all, hence why it's completely and perfectly black. If we were talking thermodynamics I would refer you to "black bodies".
