Mordhau is probably one of the most simultaneously frustrating and rewarding experiences I've had in my time playing games online. I never played Chivalry, and I only played Mount and Blade singleplayer, so this was a unique experience for me. I found that some "technique" transferred to this, but I still found myself getting my ♥♥♥♥ pushed in constantly. This game makes you feel like you're a regular soldier among many, ready to die in an instant without ever seeing your attacker.

And then you get better at the game, and I swear that the first time you swing a sword and three heads come off, that all the hours spent getting smacked down by better players is completely worth it - easily my favourite game of 2019.

It may not be perfect, but this is the closest you'll get to feeling like a badass sword-master if you can stand to put the time in to get there!
