This optimization needs vastly improved. That's a fact. However I would wager a LOT of these people writing reviews are playing on hardware 5+ years or older and mad because they can't play at high settings 100+ fps on a 2025 AAA open world release. The actual game itself is amazing. Potentially the best in the series. Not far enough in to tell but it's been a blast so far. As I said it does need better optimization but you can still play the game just fine providing you have a descent setup. I've had no bugs or issues/crashes. Ran fine from the get go. I do wish I got higher fps and didn't have to use DLSS on quality mode but can't really tell the difference anyway. I am playing at 1440P, badass settings(max), with DLSS enabled on quality and no frame gen. My system is a Ryzen 9700X, RTX 4070 Ti, and 32GB of 6400mhz DDR5. With my rig and those settings at 1440P I get around 100 fps nearly always. Sometimes a bit higher sometimes in the mid 80's. Either way 80+ fps at the worst of times on max settings at 1440P seems pretty good to me for this kind of new Unreal Engine 5 game. It should def run better but you can enjoy it as is. I wish it listed peoples system specs when they wrote reviews so you could see which ones are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trying to play this on a 1060 or something similar. Of course it's not gonna run good. That card is OLD and it was lower middle tier at BEST when it launched.
