It was raining and night was rising when Lua screamed with all of her lungs, announcing that she saw that god-forsaken flag on the horizon. The Red-Caps were close, just a few Leagues away, occupying themselves by toying with another vessel. I ordered everyone to get ready for combat, after over ten years I would not let this opportunity go away.




Over a decade ago, a group of three sailors showed up in Eral. Both the name of the crew and the vessel would be know as "The Merry Mermaid", named after their captain's favorite lullaby. Starting by taking Guild jobs, they would later partake in privateering and later resorting to piracy. Slowly, their numbers would grown to a mere six sailors until their names were written in the annals of history by slaying the brutal pirate lord Red-Cap.
This, however, did not wash them from their crimes and so a hard legal battle was fought, with them seeking pardon for their crimes for slaying a pirate lord, while the Great Natos wanted them to either be jailed or hanged for their crimes. But so a compromised was reached, they were forced to be disbanded ,with the Merry Mermaid ship being dismantled and all six of its members being banned from sailing ever again while their crimes would be pardoned.
Now, all six of them are dispersed around the corners of the Realm, waiting for someone capable enough to convince the Great Nations to allow them to work together once again.

Features

  • Six unique recruitables - Find a way to recruit the six members of the now disbanded Merry Mermaid, with each one of them having their own backstory and personality! If you are worried about their recruitment order, do not. There is only one order as they only start to spawn in the world after recruiting the respectives previous members.
  • Over 1000 lines of dialog - Each one of the six recruitable companions has their own interactions on every single one of the 32 cafes avaliable across the Realm, resulting in over 1000 lines of dialog, with some of those interactions having different variations depending on your active party's formation and even if you had certain interactions before!
  • Four Additional Food Recipe For Your Player Port - Unlock four extra secret food to use on your player ports, with one of them being achieved by having a certain chef asigned as the bartender.
  • Extra Items To Find - Over 8 new original and easter egg items for you to find, with some of them hidden across the Realm while others are directly added to the game's loot table or can only be obtained depending on your interactions with the crew!

Load this mod after/below Prominence's Zenith & Nadir mod if you are playing with it to avoid any possible problems regarding one of the weapons added by this mod, as it is compatible with the effects and abilities added by Zenith & Nadir. Thanks to Prominence for the permission to do so.



Update 11/15/2025 - If you are having trouble finding the other Mermaids after recruiting Sieg, do not falter! Just ask around on any cafe, the bartender might have information regarding it. Added 4 new NPCs in four ports that give hints on the locations of certain unique items. Those extra NPCs can be found in Gonhaldr, Dunning-Mars, Jascias and Bilibas. Added 1 extra armor to the game's loot table. Fixed the dialog used to unlock the Rock Yam Launcher, it now removes one loaded or unloaded cleever crossbow as intended.




Planned Features

  • Intermodding compatibility - Add extra and more dialog with characters and ports from other mods already avaliable on the workshop!
  • Implementing the Red-Caps - It's not that their captain is now that that they are going to stop their sowing of discord and misery! Face the remants of the Red-Caps as they are now seeking revenge!
  • Individual Questlines - Give every single one of the six companions their own questline to flesh out their respective story! Help Pozo find out exactly what happened to his parents! Support Sieg on his task to become more social, or even find out how exactly the Red-Caps are still active!

Thank you! I always check on cafe gossip to find your quest but no luck. I thought I have to make new playthrough to find Sieg

@Garnet_Tea you can find Sieg on ||Searth, on the Information store||. You can find that out by checking the Cafe Gossip option on any cafe. This also goes for the location of all of the other characters.

@Kugeg Thank you for the report. It was an oversight where the IDs for the Dialogs called on the conversation where not matching. It should be fixed by now!

@Neku Hey! I'm really loving this mod but I think I've hit a bug that's preventing me from continuing. I'm at the ruined fishing hamlet when first meeting Alice. When talking to her the dialogue progresses to where Marcus is saying "Then do it.", the conversation then ends, and when interacting with Alice the dialogue starts from the beginning. Am I doing something wrong or am I softlocked for some reason?
