Description
Dodge D800 Version 2.1

MISSING A GRILL OR FUEL TANK?
If you bought a truck prior to the V2.1 update, released late in the day on January the 4th, you may or may not be missing a grill and fuel tank. I made some changes in order to offer optional grills and fuel tanks. If your current truck is missing a grill or fuel tank, drive it to the dealer or service center and select a new grill and fuel tank or any other option. No matter what option you select, the standard grill and fuel tanks will be installed automatically. New truck purchases will not have this issue.

To see the changes from any update, click the "Change Notes" tab above

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: This is a complete rework of an older, outdated truck mod that was never on Steam. If you have the older mod and a truck on your system, it is best to sell the truck and then deactivate the older mod before activating this mod. However, if you are partial to the truck and want to keep it, you will still want to deactivate the older mod as the two mods will conflict with each other. As for your existing truck, due to the many changes in this mod, you will likely have some options disappear. Due to every color being replaced by new colors, the color of your truck will change. Take it to the dealer and you will get some refunds for the missing options. You can then reinstall the missing options, choose a new color, and keep your existing truck. Be sure to check the transmission as well. But, if for some reason you have serious issues, just sell the truck and buy a new one.

This truck was produced by Chrysler Corporation in the mid 70's. For the USA, it was only supplied with gasoline engines. However, the South American versions were equipped with diesel engines and were very popular. We managed to find several retired fleets of these trucks in South America. We had them shipped up to the US where we had them completely restored to like new condition. You can now own one for yourself with your choice of rebuilt diesel engines, reman transmissions, and a nice choice of colors.

DISCLAIMER: The Dodge D800 is classified as a medium duty truck. For the best performance and handling, it is suggested to limit your loads to less than 30,000 pounds. However, it has been tested and proven to be able to pull heavier loads, just not as well as the bigger trucks. The heavier the load, the more careful you will need to be in the curves. Don't let the trailer overpower you. This truck isn't as big and heavy as the big Kenworths and Peterbilts.

To purchase one of these D800's, go to the mod dealer section and you will find a Dodge dealer. Or, for a regular dealership, you can find this truck at any Freightliner dealer.

In real life there were only about 25 12V53 engines ever made. So, the way we are imagining this engine being available is we had brand new blocks cast along with new crankshafts and camshafts. For cylinder heads, we are using the heads from salvaged 6V53 engines along with many other parts from the 6V53.

The 12v53 that's in this actually started as 6v53... believe it or not. But a few beers later it got married to itself :steamhappy:

a 6V53 would be a nice option too I know Chilling Toaster was working on one like a year ago don't know if he is or not but yeah

I'm the one who made the DD 4-53 with Slav Jerry sounds. The fact of the matter is the 4-53 is too under powered with a 175hp max (real world hp), That wouldn't pull you out of a phone booth. The only possible way that could even work is with an 18spd trans + a Meritor Fat 30 auxiliary transmission.... none of which will fit under the cab or between the chassis.

SeijiSan, why don't you offer the 4-53 as a mod here on Steam.

VDU824V, in all of my personal trucks, the 18 speed is the only thing I use. I would love to put an 18 speed in this truck, but it would not be realistic. It won't fit. The 13 speed is really stretching it, but we did it anyway. Maybe if I put bucket seats in the truck and enlarge the tunnel, then an 18 speed might be believable.

SeljiSan, we already had access to a 4-53 engine when deciding what to use in this truck and the 4 cylinder engine got voted down. I really appreciate the offer, though.
