@craxxybraxxy, Sadly, PlayX Repeater don't have a way to limit it. You will need to find an addon that limits custom entities. If you find it limit "gmod_playx_repeater". But you can limit who uses PlayX, remove the permission from who is spawning tons of repeaters. Sorry I can't help you there.

is there a command to limit how many repeaters a player can spawn? someone keeps spawning 100 playx repeaters and it lags my server ;p

But i wanna say that im using PlayX specifically because of the "fullscreen" feature that allows to play videos fullscreen for the whole RP server, just like Cutscenes. And i guess GIF format is the best, as it doesn't show a media player and also can play static images.

Also if i make every gif a 1024x512 i guess the black bars issue won't matter, so it's one more advantage of a gif.

Im sorry, but how do i use the "Image" provider? Whenever i copy picture's URL, insert it and press "open media" i just get a black screen. Im on chromium and even installed a codec...

Does it mean i have the aforementioned bug?

@Sora, We need be in beta to PlayX to work as you can see in the top of the description. Sadly it seems to be a an eternal beta. Nothing I can do about it.

Can confirm it just works for me. I'm in x86_64 beta without CEF patch. I didn't test without x86_64 beta so it might be a limitation if you're not in beta? Alternatively its likely a codec issue.

@craxxybraxxy, You can use any that is open to the internet, you can use apache if you want, but only you will see it. if is localhost.

what web service did you use? i was hosting the file off a apache2 server

@craxxybraxxy, PlayX don't play files directly from HD/SSD. You need it hosted on a webservice. I tested once and worked just fine.

I can directly link to a .webm file and it'll get recognized but it starts off paused and it doesn't unpause it/i can't play the video, It just shows an arrow. :P

Can you add support for WebM file extension? They play without CEF patch but PlayX will not recognize it unless you rename it to ".mp4" it'll then recognize the file and play without issues despite wrong extension. This appears to be a limitation with recognized file types.

@JAO, PlayX source é o player normal. você deve estar usando o repeater, pra usar o repeater você precisa primeiro usar o player normal. Creio que você esteja querendo tocar um video e não repeti-lo, então utilize o Player normal.

No it shouldn't mess up other mods in fact shouldn't make them work better. Ik it does for me. Cuz the beta branch is more ig capable. Like with my 1k mods if I run them on the reg branch gnkd won't even load for me. But ij the beta it will. Beta is more ig optimized and better for performance since uts 64 bit while og is like 32 bit. So yeah beta shouldn't break stuff but make things run better. Hope this helps. Sorry for texting alot. @JJ, No its not possible. The JS/CSS/HTML files are hosted on github, need to be remote files. If you want play local files, install IIS, Apache or Lighttp and host it locally.

Local playback might be possible, i may be wrong but i think the issue a lot of people encounter is that GMOD can't pull file paths from outside the gmod folder but multiple radio mods work fine just by creating a sound folder inside the gmod folder.
