It Takes What It Takes Break the glass start askin’ for forgiveness A public space but it’s nobody’s business Semi fore understated cryptic Takes one to know one can’t vouch for the witness Polygraph on an artificial spring day We could choose but can’t pick the right phrase Inside down upside in the corn maze Getting’ lost in the middle of a work day Everything’s catching on fire tonight Everything’s catching on fire tonight Digital collusion cookin’ analog tripe It takes what it takes Had to laugh you could chew it with your mouth closed Bad decision made down at the cross roads Enough to share not enough to reload Birthday card sent to the wrong group home Handbook update off to the control freak The re-appearance of saying what you don’t mean Flat earth joker jonesin’ for the vaccine Mumps and measles, polio and wet dreams Everything’s catching on fire tonight Everything’s catching on fire tonight Digital dominion stealin’ analog rights It takes what it takes A buddy system and the void that follows team sports Long division reduced it now it’s too short The way you say it signaling the soft core Eat the rich hydration for the piss poor Everything’s catching on fire tonight Everything’s catching on fire tonight Digital resentment pushin’ analog spite It takes what it takes Everything’s catching on fire tonight Everything’s catching on fire tonight Digital resentment pushin’ analog spite It takes what it takes It takes what it takes

Mountains to Move A sour forecast, new windshield wipers Bloody knuckles, rotten egg timer A choice divided, the crashing threshold Symptomatic, impressive fools gold It started like it was never gonna stop Started like it was everything we’d want Slowly shifted focus on the drop Fading, we can’t find the groove It once was great but now there are mountains to move It’s been recycled, a duller version A lacking performance, the breathing you phoned in lose it or use it, test your sarcasm The scary questions you’re never askin’ It started like it was never gonna stop Started like it was everything we’d want Slowly shifted focus on the drop Fading, we can’t find the groove It could be great but now there are mountains to move

I Think I’m Being Poisoned Treasonous keys for confederate locks The motives are cold but the barrels are hot Its as old as the book always rich against poor Keep revving them up so they’ll help start a war The curse of the clock a seasonal gasp The signal was on but you got here so fast A stick for my eye better give up a clue Its loud and succinct can’t tell which ones the fool We were gonna try to be ourselves until it got annoying Now I really need some help I think I’m being poisoned The best is never good enough until you cant afford it Maybe none of this is true but I think I’m being poisoned sleep in your chair until the fortune arrives No presents this year and you never say die Pull back the wings they cover up horns Telegraph fear with your hooves on the floor You worry too much everybody’s insane What could mean there’s no longer a way A voice in our ear better step on the clutch But it shifts by itself and it wont let you catch up We were gonna leave where it was if we could avoid it Maybe you should throw a rope I think I’m being poisoned They told me that we’d melt before, never close to boiling Maybe none of this is real but I think I’m being poisoned I did my time and you did your best But your best was a joke and you should’ve done less But you’re smarter than me it’s your version of things It keeps writing it’s self and you need to learn how to read You thought that they would wanna catch it it you made it pointed Probably use a mask and gloves, I think I’m being poisoned What if all the plans were bad and we never get rewarded Help me find the anecdote I think I’m being poisoned

Every Name, Every Face Politics aside, there’s no way you agree Each name has a face, each voice a claim to sing Politics aside, it’s a manufactured threat Preparing for the worst, prolonging the neglect Running your mouth, such a poisonous sound Can’t you hear the bells Moving targets, empty ice chests is it yours to sell It works on your block Politics aside, it’s a manufactured threat Fire up your base, deceive the treble clef Fire breathing, over reaching Crossing every line Color blinder, slow rewinder Hate you wont define It lives in your house Politics on top, the color of your skin You’d like a closer match, to help you hide your sin Ivory towers, curfew hours anything but safe Do you think it’s tragic, stuck in traffic You’re not part of the change It sleeps in your bed Every name, every face Every name, every face Every name, every face Every name, every face

Deep Enough 04:10
Deep Enough You were almost strong ‘cause you’re almost tough But you stopped somewhere And never quite grew up Maybe too many dreams You should’ve made a plan It’s no accident you still can’t understand Would you survive the fall Did you think you could take that punch Did it ever cross your mind It might not be deep enough Did you lose your frame Where did the reference go You wanted speed it up But that’s not how you make it glow With all of their eyes on you You thought that you’d show ‘em how Thought that they’d need your light But they blew you out Would you know which turn to make Or the place where you’d need to jump You thought it would break your fall But it wasn’t deep enough There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier Than your own voice I know that you’ll never try To earn back our trust You’d have to admit your fault That you’re the one that got us stuck I know that you’ll never learn You can’t wait around for luck You’ll never face the truth It just wasn’t deep enough It’s never been deep enough It wont ever be deep enough There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier There’s nothing lonelier Than your own voice Than being wrong

Philosophical Stammer I see the light under your door You just woke up to check the score Still trying to drink the rain But it melts your teeth It’s not what you want to believe I see a light in the crawl space You set out early and showed up late Still trying to plant a seed In the wet cement It’s the wrong growth to expect Can’t fix the logic it’s not very smart and it should break my heart You turn yer harsh words towards the ones that you know got out of the boat There’s a life line to throw but you’re gonna let go You’re starting to connect the dots But still think it starts more than it stops You know you should be yourself But it feels too weird that's why you practice in the mirror Can’t fix the logic it’s not very smart you’re calling it art You turn yer harsh words towards the ones on the edge that no one defends This might be the end and you can’t call a friend No tricks no magic, it’s still flesh and bone, volume and tone Side step the “not yet” it’s usually off, do you wanna be on You need to belong but you’re already gone

Trying To Count The Stars A noble bird, flies so high Starved to death while you painted skies The part time grind you’ve made your speech In thousand years we wont agree Raise the flag, your on your way Oh but the car wont start Read your mind, To mix reviews Something about a heart Trying to count the stars Wiggle room, is awful tight There’s 60 different, shades of right It’s good for you but not for me and all the other in betweens olive branch but you never showed Busy fallin’ apart The more things change I’m still confused You ruined my favorite part Trying to count the stars I said you were crazy and I should’ve found a better word Completely unstable still unable to explain what we observed Brothers and sisters, takers and givers Comes a point to make a change Did you kill it? Did I walk away? Roger that, you’re out of breath You want us to think you’re smart Lines too thick the colors’ off The hustle has too far finally free or are we out of luck Can’t find a place to park It’s out of reach, but you’ll talk it up Something about a heart Trying to count the stars You ruined my favorite part Trying to count the stars

Heart String Theory I knew my way around, I had the magic words and an eye for what was moving and what would never turn there was a whole lot more, when we had less to hide and knew that I would miss it if I didn't keep picking out the rhythm from the rhyme now I'm always outta breath, and it's always too steep it never fills up and it never breaks free I met you on a star, something like a dream we were both on skates, two straws in a shake, back when our hands were still clean was it the failure or the dance, that we were hoping to avoid it was a lot to keep alive and we could've let it die, we didn't really have a choice that's when I hit the edge, and my heart stings frayed sent me back to the start, put me back in my cage I couldn't breathe no more, no but I didn't need air 'cause it's a different set a rules when you're floatin' up there I saw you blow a kiss, and give yourself away you took away my turn, you didn't hear a word, cause you had so much to say so I found another pin, and started looking for a thought took the strings off my fingers, and I tried to tie a different kind of knot I found some light and I pulled it through I made a pile in the middle of the room and I put a match to you the smoke was clean and it turned into a song and I've tried to write it all down and tried to make 'em sing along I knew my way around and I replay the memories everything connects, the parts you still reject and the parts I still believe

You Call It Something Else You were smoking on the way down An elevator or a fire place Do I want to start a business Can you borrow eighty bucks If you need to lose my number I was hoping to avoid a scene But it works the way it used to And there’s no distance that would be far enough Happy hour Afraid to ask for help You call it something else Hearts and flowers Tried to wish them well But you call it something else I was dreamin’ ‘bout the valley Being young with only rent to pay We were happy boiling water Almost ready and still holding hands When I woke up I felt different Like the past had turned the volume up A giant pink eraser And the battle of the network stars Closed rehearsal The over confidence you sell You call it something else Paint the ceiling The disillusion swells But You call it something else Do I want to hear a story Can I listen from across the street We haven’t seen your scars yet We’ll probably need to make some room You finally caught that splinter I know you tried to dig it out We should keep our appointment It might save us when the waters rise T.V. dinners Bitterness to quell You call it something else Lost without it Pride wont ask for help And you call it something else Tried to wish ‘em well You call it something else
