Croc 2 known also as Croc Adventure in Japan is a third-person 3D platform game developed by Argonaut Software and published by Fox Interactive in 1999 for PlayStation. Further versions of the game were then released for Windows in 2000 and Game Boy Color in 2001. A release for the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast was also planned, but both were cancelled. The game is a sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.
Story[edit | edit source]
After the events of the first game, Croc and his friends Gobbos have resumed their carefree life. However, the inventor Gobbo is kidnapped by the evil Dantinis, just as they manage to bring their leader Baron Dante back to life with a ritual. One day Croc finds a bottle on the beach containing a message bearing the footprint of a baby crocodile, which explains that the senders are looking for their lost son. Croc then turns to King Rufus, who advises Croc to travel to a distant land, where other Gobbos live who could help him find his parents. Croc is then catapulted to a distant island inhabited by the Sailor Gobbos and here his adventure begins. During his search, however, he will once again be hindered by the Dantini and other servants of Baron Dante.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Croc 2 builds on the gameplay of the first title in the series, with the addition of a few new features, such as the ability to perform a super-jump using your tail as a spring and the possibility to drive some vehicles. Croc can now also use the crystals obtained in the levels to make purchases and in each level he must achieve a different goal.
