@evelyn090807 (you can do if you want, but I know @robbykeeneslawyer tagged you as well. You’re very popular apparently lol)
I’m going to disobey all the rules and post my favorite paragraph from a fanfic I’m currently working on because I’m so proud of it.
It’s a scene where Johnny ends up on trial.

“Do you want to go back to your dad, Robby?” the man asked.
The boy shook his head tersely.
“Do you think he’d hurt you?” he asked, gesturing to his healing cut.
Robby looked at his father and then back at his lap. “I don’t think my father would ever purposely hurt me, but I don’t think he could take care of me either.”
“Why’s that?” the question was spoken softly.
“I think that living together would be nice at first, but then the novelty would wear off, and things would go back to normal. I’d wake up once again to an empty fridge, liquor bottles strewn everywhere, and an alcoholic parent passed out on the couch. It would be just like living with mom again.”
Johnny flinched like he’d been physically wounded.
Ouch! That was like a knife to the heart.
