"[character] has never done anything wrong in their life ❤️" as in a hyperbolic joke expressing that the character is sweet and kind and i love them, vs "[character] has never done anything wrong in their life ❤️" as in i’m absolutely lying through my teeth while a long list of their crimes plays behind me like film credits
merlin and arthur in that one bbc show were operating on levels of homoerotism never before seen. other fandoms can think they know ball but all will fall short to whatever the hell was going on between those two

Merlin: i need help
Gaius: use your books and think about everything you have been taught
Merlin 3 seconds later: dragon i need your help
dragon: best i can offer you is a riddle
Merlin: bloody hell, i don’t have time for this. i’m just going to use my magic out in the open and hope no one catches on. it’s worked well for me so far. no one believes i could be a sorcerer anyways
im-out-of-it
Merlin has wise Gaius in his corner and then he’s got a thousand year old dragon to help him out and if Merlin doesn’t like the outcome or if he can’t get help right away, he’s instantly like “NO WILL HELP ME! why do I have to do everything on my own?” valid because if i cant get a dragon or a wise elder to give me a solution in 3 seconds, i’m going to huff and puff about how i never get any assistance
