about

Launched from Earth in late 1987, RESONANCE-1 was a long-range research probe built to capture and transmit the electromagnetic resonances of the planets of our Solar System. Its mission: a complete solar rotation, starting from Mars and traveling to the outer giants, then back toward the inner system and ultimately returning the data back to Earth. Its full trajectory took roughly [REDACTED] years.

Shortly after take-off, a calibration fault in its [REDACTED] signal buffer [REDACTED] fragments of onboard reference audio to loop into [REDACTED] outgoing transmissions. [REDACTED], these fragments, traces of 1980s and 1990's Earth broadcasts and [REDACTED] became inseparable from the planetary recordings.

What remains are corrupted composites: planetary atmospheres, [REDACTED], and distant, auditory traces of human life. Each track represents a partial recovery from the probe’s telemetry archives, arranged in the order of its trajectory through the Solar System.
