Bad luck spot: non magic spell
Components: VSM any kind of drawing implement
The artist must make a performance check, an arcana check, or any other skill that could persuade others that the circle is indeed magic and bad luck as they draw it. Those who step inside the circle must make a wisdom save against the “caster’s” roll as soon as they step inside the circle. On a failed save, all their rolls are at disadvantage until they leave the circle.
It can vary in size depending on how many turns the caster wants to spend drawing the circle. One turn spent drawing will result in a circle with a circumference of the artist’s movement speed. The artist can continue to draw a bigger circle over subsequent turns creating a circle with a radius of (TxS)÷6 in which T is the number of turns spent drawing and S is the speed of the artist. However on each turn spent drawing the artist must continue to roll their check and the DC is set at the lowest rolled value. A swiftly drawn circle with a lot of confidence can fool any number of people. If you spend a long time drawing and at some point you slip up, your targets are more likely to see through your ruse.
On honor of disability pride month and my newly sprained ankle, I want to say two things.
- Abled people, please appreciate what you have. Not everyone has that.
- More places and systems need to be more easily accessible for people who are disabled.
I think these two honestly go hand in hand. Abled people take what they have for granted, so they build spaces and systems assuming that everyone is like them. Living with an invisible disability, namely ADHD, people make these assumptions that I can operate like they do, and I can't. It's humiliating, and exhausting.
This kinda reads like you are identifying as disabled because of a sprained ankle.. and idk you OP, so I'm gonna give u the benefit of the doubt and assume that's not what u were trying to imply. But jsyk that's how it can come off to other people. Otherwise good message
These are my original tags, and you may have missed them.
It didn’t make me disabled. My brain is what makes me disabled. It’s just that this injury that I’m still getting over forced me to look at my life differently. Stairs became more difficult to traverse. I can’t put on my shoes the way I used to. It’s made me consider those who have challenges that I don’t normally have. I’m not claiming that I suddenly deserve extra attention, but it’s made me realize that there are many people who deserve more help and attention than I’ve given them.
