Shooting my shot here: does anyone have any naval warfare fiction novel recs? I tend to like period pieces set during the Napoleonic War or WW1-WW2.

I’ve enjoyed the Aubrey-Maturin novels, C.S. Forrester’s stuff (The Good Shepard), and Robert Harris (dipping my toe in more of his works). I have not read any Tom Clancy yet and I’m open to suggestions.

What I’m not interested in is.. like… a ship stranded in the arctic and people are eating each other. Please don’t rec me The Terror. I enjoyed the show, but I would like the focus to be on military bureaucracy, ranks, ocean tactics, and communications. ._.
