Some of you think of Cops as kind of a symbolic figure representing "telling you what to do" & you're Posting things like "acab includes fandom discourse" and I thuink the 80% white website needs to remember the reason why we hate cops is because they kill people

We hate cops because they're a weapon for enforcing the state's interests through violence. Like, they kill & imprison people. The antis don't have a Quite Literal boot on your neck please god log off or talk to a Black person or something

To be SO fair like really generous there is something to be said for unlearning the habit of figuratively "policing" other people especially in the context of, like, not being a fucking snitch, "kill the cop in your head" etc etc, but can we not completely lose the plot re: what cops Are

steam points is like. such a stupid and worthless thing to have. Oh, i get points for buying things in the steam store, and playing steam games, and theres a store i can buy things in?

Well what can i buy? steam games? coupons for steam games?

image

nope. animated sticker of a tantrum-ing soyjak baby and the pop cat for the steam groupchat nobody uses because discord exists.

I got a sticker of a dog scratching its ass via steam points and i send it to my friends and my girlfriend randomly when they're playing games to piss them off.

Vital info is that at one point I changed my entire Steam profile to be themed around the fuckass dog so my friends were getting messages from "ass scratching dog" with nothing but that stupid gif in the middle of their games.

I take it back steam points is worth it because it allows this person to do that and that's hilarious.

That’s Gorditos! Any family that agreed to the baby vs. burrito photo got a free meal.

They’re my favorite Mexican restaurant in the world. We used to live 4 blocks from them. God I miss their tomatillo enchiladas.

If you’re in Seattle, go to the Greenwood neighborhood and get some food. You will be very happy.

i dont know what this world could possibly want from me

Ralsei dialogue that fucks me UP

"Kris, can I ask something selfish?"

"On the day of the festival..."

"Perhaps... If you could purchase some ice cream or something..."

"...And tell Susie it was from me...?"

He is asking for SUSIE'S happiness. He's not even asking for something for himself, he's asking for Kris to buy Susie something in his name, and he calls that "something selfish."

He's so hard-wired to think of any desires of his own as selfish. He thinks he's being selfish because he wants Susie's recognition, he wants her to know it was HIM that wanted her to have it, and he thinks that's SELFISH.

GODDDDDDD RALSEI YOU POOR THING </3

me: yea

genie: do you want me to throw in "teach the tf2 devs webdev and the tumblr devs gamedev" in. not an extra wish or anything just like, on the house

me: why would i want that

image

Yeah I said something similar yesterday but we can NOT let what happened to Renee Good cloud what happened to everyone else at the hands of these SS Demons!!!

Because we can’t disregard one person if we’re for human rights!

this tweet made me laugh but more importantly. it made me think. are we prepared for twobats to be mainstream again

The USPS just changed how postmarks work - and it will affect MAIL-IN VOTING while hitting Americans with late fees on everything from tax payments to rent checks.

Starting in 2026, your postmark date won’t reflect when you actually mailed something anymore. Instead of stamping mail with the date you dropped it in a mailbox or handed it to a postal worker, USPS will now mark it with whenever their sorting machine gets around to processing it - potentially days later.

JUST IN TIME FOR NEXT YEARS MIDTERM ELECTIONS

The last time I played Puck, the director was a huge freak about not letting us wear shoes on stage because it would "ruin the look", but we all kept eating shit, and instead of just letting us wear skintone dance shoes or something with grip, motherfucker poured Pepsi on the floor so it'd be sticky and we had to schlorp around. I fucking hate you, David.

Why couldn't this have been a one time I dreamt

Coking the stage (mopping it with diluted soda so it's a little sticky) is a legitimate low-budget tactic for slick floors, but he just poured so much Pepsi on the floors that for about a whole week, it was audible.

Maybe the course of true love would run a little fucking smoother if we didn't have to ford your Pepsi river, DAVID.

I would just quit. Fuck people like that. It's easy to walk away

No it's not. Didn't you read the post? There was dried Pepsi everywhere.

Looking at what national news outlets are up to right now, one might not realize a whole major US metropolitan area is, you know, sort of under attack by paramilitary forces. Wild.

im sorry the What is being What now???

While it's not going unreported entirely, what's been happening in Minnesota and in Minneapolis–Saint Paul in particular since Renee Good was murdered is not getting the attention it should be.

There are already 2000 gangsters from DHS deployed, and "hundreds" or "1000" more are on the way, depending on which Trumpland person you ask. As a point of reference, the Twin Cities' actual police total just under 1200 (600 in Minneapolis and 590 in Saint Paul according to the depts' sites).

The feds there are more or less attacking people at random. They've gone door-to-door for "citizenship checks" (completely illegal). They've knocked doors down when residents haven't complied (obviously also completely illegal). In addition to abducting and brutalizing the immigrants they come across during their rampages, they've done the same to US citizens of color and are also harassing, stalking and physically attacking observers.

Here are some local sources:

Below are some videos from observers. I'm linking to Bluesky because that's where I saw them, though many are originally from/also available elsewhere. News2Share has more on YouTube:

I also recommend checking out this guy's work:

Schools had to cancel classes due to threats from ICE, and the city districts are offering virtual learning for children who are scared to leave the house.

High schoolers had classes canceled all last week because hours after Good was murdered, Border Patrol gents attacked them as school was getting out, tackled, beat and handcuffed staff, and tear gassed students.

Just a note of the scale/how it’s affecting people at every level and in every context.

Mix of agencies too: CPB, DHS, ICE.

This really pissed me off in twitter recently. Disabled people belong in every type of setting. If we aren't there, your worldbuilding sucks.

image
image

I mean yes but... like, did you read the whole list or just nope out at the 'spell on their broken legs' because the actual list is 'disabled character riding a battle cat and disabled mages floating around with magic'.

And it's literally a 'modern wheelchairs are boring, you should have a dwarven forged chair instead'. which let's be honest, riding around in a magitech wheelchair sounds fucking dope.

Which are literally both awesome ideas for disabled characters AND more fitting for high magic settings.

those cool ideas do not negate the ableism that pervades the whole post.

"disabled people in fantasy should be either cured, or meet my standard of coolness" is an ice cold fucking take

Yes, which is why the concept here is instead 'People in fantasy settings where there is plentiful magic have access to options that we do not.'

In a world where lost limbs and permanent disabilities are one wandering priest away from being restored to perfectly whole, and where magical replacements are a viable and sometimes even cheap option? One cannot just linearly transpose our version of society onto it.

And to say otherwise is to assume that people with disabilities should NOT avail themselves of perfect healing when it is widely and readily available.

Yes there should be disabled people. No they shouldn't get wheelchairs. Your ass is not adventuring.

Literally everyone in a fantasy world has to be an adventurer suddenly lmao

Also I love the idea of "widely and readily available" healthcare apparently just being... waiting for a wandering priest with sufficient magic skill to happen to come around.

You people are a joke lol

Why assume that any fantasy world has to do anything. This is like. reverse engineering a watsonian explanation for why worlds can't have disabled people. "well you see any world would have to have different technology" lmao? why? my fantasy word has disabled characters who use canes and (real life historical versions of) wheelchairs because i want to see canes and wheelchairs in fantasy. I have POTS and have had to use a cane on occasion like. why the fuck would i need a magical steed to ride on. my cane folds up and fits in my hoodie pocket. this is such paternalistic and patronizing ableism. the reason there are disabled people in fantasy is because there are disabled people in real life, simple as.

Why can't you just fix broken bones? Limited resources, limited magical power, systemic and political powers in universe....

Why can't you just heal paralysis? See above, but also, because nerve damage is fucking complicated and fiddly?

Why can't you just float? Probably a lot of reasons honestly. How much sustained concentration does it take to float and fly everywhere? You really think that having to sustain a magical process is .... what effortless? You don't think the person would have to think about floating around? You think it's less brain processing to enable yourself to fly and having to keep track of a whole other dimension of movement than it is.... navigating the world while you sit down? Are we being serious right now?

Isn't it easier to roll along on your chair and *occasionally* use magic to help lift the chair over some stairs than it does to *constantly* be lifting yourself everywhere?

Why can't it be a cool dwarven made thing? It could be! But the basic implementation of chair + wheels doesn't require something fancy like that.

Why isn't *every* chair in the world some cool dwarven made thing? Why does this tavern have a regular ass boring wooden table when it could have something *~high fantasy~*? Like do you hear yourself?

And no, an animal is *not* the same as a fucking wheelchair, come on now. Imagine if you just want to do your daily shopping - you think that the general store will have room for your fucking battle tiger when you want to pick up some apples and flour for a pie? Like not every day is Adventure Day!

And like, most magic systems aren't just "Cast Cure!" and everyone restores to full HP, you know? Magic almost always has a cost associated with it.

There are spell components, mana costs, spell SLOTS, training, rural communities without access to high power spell casters, probably curses and other things that cause permanent damage to someone's body....

There are so many reasons why the presence of magic in your world could not get rid of disabilities for every single person in the world - and everyone complaining about this bullshit all fucking know it too.

And I'm sorry but wheelchairs are a fucking basic technology, humanity has been using what we'd consider to be wheelchairs since at least 600 BC. A lot of modern fantasy has settings of what we'd consider to be medieval times - which *started* a good thousand years after the invention of what we would call a wheelchair.

So what the FUCK are people even talking about? Wheelchairs couldn't exist in *fantasy medieval times* despite being invented in the real world a millennia before medieval times?

This also just screams to me 'none of you guys have ever played d&d'. Like, if you go to most DMs and tell them 'hey this character has this difficulty/weakness, how could we work this into the mechanics? Also here's the character background explaining everything' I promise you any good DM will be immediately interested and on board, and they will be straight up with you about any difficulties/restrictions you may handle.

For one thing, it's the polar opposite of the min maxing that a lot of DMs have to deal with - straight up going to them and saying 'hey I would like to disadvantage my character in this way' makes most DMs go "ooooh ok!"

For another, it's collaborative fucking storytelling.
