Changed: A Batched Twins Fanzine PREVIEW
Here's a little sneaky peeky of what @aaaaawolfquarters and I have put together for @changedzine!
If you like Tech and Crosshair, you are going to love this. Oh, and you want the full bundle. The stretch goals that go along with it are awesome!
Phee's idea of settling down would be calling her home on Pabu "our domicile" and clearing off a shelf in the Providence's refresher for Tech's razor and hair gel, because zipping around the galaxy liberating ancient wonders just became their thing.
The Bad Batch Sanctuary: The Dynamic of Phee as a Whole And The Fandom's Views On Her
(Sidenote: This isn't to bash anyone at all or those who have already received the book and reviewed it. This is entirely my opinion as a whole.)
Since we have a week and a half left of The Bad Batch: Sanctuary officially releasing to the public, I want to say something.
I wish that those who ship TechPhee and those who don't to please not attack one another. I've been in this fandom since the very start, whether it's to lurk but as well as interact with people. I know people have different perspectives on the relationship between Tech and Phee, but I hate that people attack Phee or bash her character as a whole solely because she's shipped with Tech by the fandom and the hints thrown at the show.
I'm a multishipper, so I don't really mind any ships (and seeing how I made a rather odd ship between Crosshair and Phee myself, ehe) that don't have Phee shipped with Tech. But I hate the fact that people try to ship her with someone else solely because they don't like seeing her, and only her, be shipped with Tech. That also includes those who made OC's to ship them with Tech, which also includes me because I have an OC that I ship with Tech as well.
And based on the reviews, I see that a lot of people hint and speak about the relationship between Tech and Phee. By relationship, I mean them as a whole, both platonic and romantic. This book explores The Bad Batch and how they can adapt and survive being under the scrutiny of the Empire by remaining low but also taking missions. They're soldiers first, but Phee is helping them explore something outside of war. She's helping them understand that they don't have to always hide and can be a family. I think we see that when Phee helps The Bad Batch after they realize that Cid isn't exactly the ally they had hoped to gain. And while the concept of family isn't entirely explored with The Bad Batch settling down on Pabu in the show, it's going to be explained in the book.
I just hope that no one bashes Phee when they explore the relationship between her and the other Bad Batch members. I saw what happened when she was first introduced, and while the hate had died down, I don't want it to be resurfaced and amplified, all because of a relationship or anything that concerns Phee. None of us, aside from reviewers, has read the book at all, so I don't want to see any bashing towards a character that, quite frankly, is getting hate for no particular reason other than being shipped with one of the main characters.

I’m almost speechless from relief; this was such a heartfelt and comforting ending!
It’s so sweet to see two fictional people find love again after relationship conflicts, as well as not becoming bitter over what didn’t work so that they take insulting jabs at their exes’ new partners (and just keep on adding fuel to an already painful fire, let’s be honest).
How nice it is that Leena and Tech can still be great neighbors to one another, too, because they were able to talk everything out without anything turning into a fight. So very good! 💖💖💖. Thank you and thanks to @leenathegreengirl for your excellent collaborations!
(Apologies for my jumbled words; this was just so very better than how people can be in real life, so of course I love this series through and through! 😍)
why are practically none of the popular posts about tech the bad batch right. he’s either white (canon isn’t an excuse), “hot” (as in people trying to make him look uncharacteristically attractive and well-put together), dead (only thing acceptable among these), or dominant. it’s scary.
that’s my loser son autisms georg who has 50 versions of block blast 3d all in different languages on his ipad, has the physique of a praying mantis and kinda likes this girl so then to show that he’s interested he smiles at her twice and refuses to ever directly tell her that he enjoys her presence and misses her because he thinks it’s obvious. he sleeps on a generator in his bunker in kamino and threw orange dye on his hair out of curiosity and never fixed it. said hair has never been brushed and is only taken care of when shaved into the worst fucking haircut ever. he wants to study the goddamn zillobeast. first thing he does in his own fucking series was call a droid a slur and then throw a bomb into it’s hands. the only thing slutty about him is his blue jeans. first thing he does in the clone wars was crash a ship and almost kill like 5 people. he plays chess against himself. he has an ego that honestly reaches the sky and yet isn’t exactly self-obsessed but rather very confident in his self-efficacy. he has gamer skulls on his helmet. the masses have confused his dirtiness and foul-play in battle to be equivalent with his sexual nature. he projects an entire autistic meltdown onto his brother. his movements are quite representative of a cat . he has big brown eyes for no fucking reason and has the uncanny ability to look like the cutest thing ever when wearing his helmet. he’s the only one on his team with white/grey armor because he thinks he’s awesome and yknow what. he’s right. he’s inherently ugly and sexless so thus women flock to him like moths to a flame. he genuinely will think they’re interested in his tirades about power converters and the fascinations of spectrograms. he’s a bitch and will yell at you for problems he has caused and invalidate your feelings about it. and he got crushed by a cablecar.
i’m losing the plot here but my point is that i do not think i can take anymore propaganda that tech is a hot normal nerd guy. he does not have a crazy 8-pack, he is studying the natural radiation present within plants for fun. he’s crazy ok you have to know that. he’s not just a nerd there’s something deeply wrong with him and you have to love him like that . ok. also he’s not white and despite all of the whitewashing in his model itself there’s so much to unpack with the deliberate lightening of the skin when relating to an unbelievably intelligent character (which is all obviously disgusting and blatantly racist) so let’s not feed into that stereotype ok. it’s not hard to actually draw him based on temuera morrison so let’s do that instead of drawing sheldon big bang theory.
