AU where Eddie lives and makes it through season five, gotta lot of boiling hot angst in this idea
Eddie constantly making jokes or talking about Steve's huge dick that in turn, Steve gets super insecure about it and begins to believe that Eddie's just dating him for his dick and for sex. With an additional burn, Eddie also joins in on making jokes about Steve's intelligence or something...like never even realizes that Steve's not laughing with them all.
Steve believes he's nothing more than his body. And he doesn't know what to do because he really does love Eddie, but this is hurting him. And even though it's killing him to be talked about like that, Steve just doesn't open up. He just keeps letting these conversations happen. He sort of feels like an outsider to his own relationship. But he's so tired of being so lonely, and Eddie's nice most of the time, and they know each other's bodies really well and have the scars to match.
Something something, then Nancy and Jonathan step in and have to sit Steve down and tell him that if he isn't honest, he's just going to feel even more lonely down the road. Steve gets super cagey, Eddie doesn't understand fully, Eddie also gets mad at Nancy and Jonathan for "putting ideas" in Steve's head. And Steve won't be having that either because he's come to be really close friends with Jonathan and Nancy despite their years of butting heads. And as much as he loves Eddie, Steve also loves his friendships too; and maybe somewhere after Vecna, Steve realized that having friends was more important than continuously seeking out romantic relationships. And, "Nancy and Jonathan were my friends first," he tells Eddie. And then Steve completely fucking snaps when Eddie sneers a snipey, "Jonathan, really?" at him. As if Jonathan didn't save Steve's fucking life, despite everything they went through.
Do they resolve? Do they break up? Hmmmm.....

And they finally reconnect, and I would like to think it’s forced proximity in a way? Steve is a teacher and Eddie’s child is his student, or maybe Eddie is a musician and Steve is an agent? Idk bro I’m brain dead but smth like that, where they’re forced to interact and they fall in love all over again and finally fix what broke them up all those years ago after nice and bad moments, fights that end in slamming doors and silent sobs.
hi welcome back to me being COMPLETELY insane
so i watched season 5 with my mom and realized that there is a shot where it’s shown what is in Steve Harrington’s glove compartment.
so, here’s pictures of that for your convenience.
am i knowledgeable enough to know what ANY of that stuff is aside from the deck of cards and the map dustin takes? nope. so i turn it over to you, the people of tumblr, to help me figure it out. it happens at roughly 36:50 of episode 4 if you desire to acquire your own images.

Ok I have no idea how to enhance images but I’m gonna make my best guesses here;
- deck of cards wrapped with rubber band (one of the clearer objects)
- the red and white in the back seems to be a pack of cigarettes, specifically the brand Malboro, but the large amount of black on the object throws me off, so I will do more digging to find out …
- the purple thing could be a box containing smth or a mixtape of sorts?
- The black thing I have nooo idea
- Blue thing seems to be a kind of cream or smth you squeeze
- and for the first image under the desk of cards, could be a light of sorts?

Today was supposed to be good.
Steve was supposed to be having one of the first good days in a sea of bad days. Robin was over; his fear of his parents arriving home randomly was gone due to the quarantine. They had a movie set up, had made food such as popcorn, and were ready to calm down after a month of panic, fear, grief, and a cacophony of other horrible feelings.
But today was not working out.

or; Steve has an epilepsy, chronic pain, and is kind of going through a lot. Robin witnesses his first seizure, and calls Hopper to help get him help. Steve has a quite gruesome hallucination and dream of Eddie’s dead body being reanimated and blaming him.
TW: very slight suicidal ideation, graphic depictions of violence, gore, etc. and descriptions of seizures, chronic pain, and such.
Please know there’s a slight possibility of the characters being OOC, I struggle with writing characters in character and haven’t written fanfics in a while, but I hope it’s still enjoyable!! My brain is flooded with Steddie again, so get ready for more.

He was tired. He was exhausted. He wanted to hurt everyone and cry himself to sleep. Dustin hated the military, El was dead, and they still took everyone in. Now, he was away from Steve, and he felt physically ill. He wanted to throw up. He wondered if throwing up on the interviewer would convince them to let him see Steve. The room they were stuck in was bleak, small, gray, and closing in on him. Dustin sat across from a man in military attire, a recorder in front of him, sitting on the metal table. They’d been sitting here for what felt like days, though in reality it was most likely hours. Two more men with weapons guarded the door, standing there, blank faces. Dustin wished they’d drop dead, because he wanted out.
The interviewer sighed. Dustin had forgotten the man’s name and didn’t care to remember it. “Can you describe in more detail what happened?”
Sorry, I actually cannot stop thinking about the implications of Dustin saying “you always try to get yourself killed.” Because while that’s been seen in canon, with Steve always putting himself on the front line to protect the kids, it’s something else to have Dustin notice it. It’s giving “I see your suicidal tendencies and please god I cannot lose another friend.” I just. Steve Harrington means so much to me as a person—and the fact that we have an active moment in canon where someone calls him out on his SI??? Especially when all season, people have been just shitting on him. It makes me cry.
I know, this!! “Oh you’re just projecting” “oh it’s not canon” but here’s the thing, it is if you actually analyze the character and read between the lines. Suicidal ideation is not just attempting or sh, Steve constantly harms himself and risks HIS life because he doesn’t value it; he is suicidal. He is so special to me as a character and I can’t stand ppl not listening it or brushing it aside cause he was a jerk in s1, which btw he wasn’t even as bad as other characters that are adored such as Billy Hargrove. Steve Harrington my little guy <3
