Equally at home with a super-charged electric fusion / prog sound as with your traditional straight ahead jazz approach, Tory demonstrates multiple layers of duality with this record. This notion is not limited to genres, either....the two handed approach on guitar is ever present as well; sort of a microcosm of the aforementioned paradigm. Likewise, when you step back and realize that Slusher is also playing all of the drums too...it might dawn on you that the same dual nature is on display yet again. ....another facet to consider - the dual role of both composer as well as performer. In other words, there are multiple layers of dualities taking place for you to discover on your own. It's a bit of a mental game.

The album itself covers the expected electric fusion territory in addition to one heavy duty prog fanfare-like display. Aside from that (as if it weren't enough), there's also a couple of bona-fide jazz trio -type numbers. Track 4 is something of a departure too, in that it features a fusing of jazz, rock and country stylings to produce a haunting ballad. Rounding out the rest of the record we have one unaccompanied solo guitar piece (allowing the artist to stretch out and play over some changes, piano style), and one drum solo; aptly titled "One oh two"....can you guess why this is the title?

All in all, it's a very tight and varied record, not lax in production, either. Definitely the type of audio smorgasbord that you can revisit time and time again.
