I am in love with this show!! And honestly, all the changes this season, I have no problem with. Because the actors embody these characters and it all works so well, and it has ALL the heart of the books!

Love how Martha cleans the church and the rectory, sews the testaments, files the paperwork, and even feeds Jefferson Wick.

That Vera took over handling his legal matters, and then (unknowingly) raised his son even as people spread rumors about it.

at CHB, he has a bunch of friends and is really popular.

but in the mortal world he's basically invisible. Like. come on. literally his only mortal friend is rachel and that's because she's clearsighted. other than that he has zero mortal friends, literally nobody his own age who's not a demigod who knows him. in the senior year trilogy he doesn't even know his classmates' names.

I love love LOVE the foreshadowing to Dark!Percy. I love seeing his anger, seeing why people were scared of him. Love how Walker interprets how angry Percy actually is all the time, how his rage can be so visible on his expression when he's provoked. THIS IS A KID OF THE BIG THREE THAT EVERYONE FEARS! THIS IS THE SON OF THE EARTHSHAKER, STORMBRINGER!

Genuinely don’t understand how anyone can have a problem with Clarisse initially choosing Annabeth and almost Percy as well, but ultimately going with Chris at Annabeth’s behest. Like it’s such a good addition that really deepens the hurt Clarisse must feel when Annabeth sneaks off WITH PERCY and then Chris will end up betraying her for Luke.

Nobody wanted to go with Charisse in the book. Not even her siblings. It’s a very plausible concept that she would’ve asked Percy and Annabeth if they hadn’t went off before she could because they were literally the only ones who actually did want to go. They’re just making that canon in the show, WHICH IS GOOD! It gives more complexity to Clarisse’s arc early on and makes sympathizing with her way easier than it is in the book. She’s still an angry teenage girl looking for glory, but she has a lot more to do character wise on screen now with this change.

And what if I said that having a young lead male character that openly expresses his emotions and fears and tells the people he loves that he loves them is more important in this political and social climate than fully accurately adapting Percy's cluelessness and his (comparative) lack of emotional maturity in the books

tv show clarisse is a much better and more developed character than book clarisse. i really love how she's written in the show. like, she may be hard on her crew, but she's still so reluctant on not sacrificing them because she made them a promise, and when she sees them being taken she runs to help irrespective of the danger. she makes them respect her as their captain on her own terms and not on ares'. she is ares' daughter and you can see that because she's so fierce and passionate and courageous, every single thing she does is motivated by how strongly she cares - not just about her father's approval, but also about OTHERS. you can see her emotions and vulnerability motivate her strength, but it doesn't make her any less rough or hard. she just has more layers to her in the show than she does in the book, she's not just a "angry rude girl" but a leader and a fighter who represents some of her father's best qualities but thinks she needs to live up to his worst ones. god... clarisse la rue they could never make me dislike you!!!

The sooner the pjo fandom understands and accepts that they aren’t going to like every episode and that every episode cannot possibly be a 10/10, the better.

And if not liking one episode ruins the entire show for you well then that says more about you than it does the show.

As much as I make fun of Percy for being down bad from day one what I really love is that he truly thinks this is regular friend behaviour. He’s unleashing his inner wattpad mafia boss for Annabeth, has her picture on his mirror, promises he’d burn down Olympus for her, seems offended there’s ‘another’ boyfriend and thinks it is purely platonic. And the best part is Percy is such a loverboy in all meanings of the world that that genuinely is understandable because he is simultaneously going to the sea of monsters for Grover, having Grover’s picture on his mirror, telling Grover he looks beautiful in a wedding dress, embracing Grover like the husband he presumed missing at sea and being so soulmated to his best friend that they dream together.
