My daughter did the 1-1 online lessons. She really enjoyed them and found them very helpful in developing her acting skills. All my communication with Articulate was helpful, efficient and they are well organised.
Very professional and amazing in communication with parents etc .agancy all the questions , emails answered same day personal calls to discuss any concerns u have that really makes u feel safe ,well informed and look after very important especially when ur a beginner in this acting journey as a parent thank you 🙂
My son has been attending for around a year, we drive some distance to get there but he never wants to miss it as loves it so much. The teachers/ chaperones are all so lovely and great with the kids - highly recommend for both kids wanting to build a career in the industry or those wanting a weekly club making new friends ❤️
I’ve experienced a selection of excellent classes for my daughter . The agency is also headed by industry experts who carefully monitor and nurture the future of students wanting to push forward . My daughter’s confidence has blossomed !Highly recommended 🩷
My two children spent last week at Baildon/Bingley Articulate summer school, my son’s fourth summer school and my daughter’s second! It’s incredible to see how much they get out it. The friends they make and the confidence they gain from being on stage, they really give it their all and you can really see how much fun they and all the other children are having. Everyone has their own moment to shine.
My daughter has a diagnosis of autism and struggles socially and with communicating her emotions, she has made some lovely little friends, she cannot wait to see again next year. The teachers, Kirsty, Tasha, Lottie, Meg and drama school manger Hannah have been amazing with supporting her, this year and last year. I made them aware of how she was, going in, every morning and they fed back how she’d been at the end of the day. My little girl even ran in on the last day hugging Kirsty, she doesn’t give out hugs often, it showed me how much she loves going and how safe she feels. She doesn’t go many places without me there and so it is huge for me to send her, knowing she’ll be okay and cared for, it’s lovely to see that even though she has her dysregulated moments, they understand her and support her.
My daughter now wears ‘loops’ (after struggling with wearing ear defenders) this was a suggestion made by the drama school manager Hannah, so that my daughter could access the classes and summer school and feel calmer whilst doing so. I’m so grateful for this advice as it has had a positive impact on her managing in busy environments too.
Summer school and the classes have been nothing short of brilliant and I would always recommend Articulate to anyone looking for a summer school and/or classes.
We already can’t wait for next year!
My daughter attended the Summer school of 2025 last week. She's never been able to attend before and was a little nervous.
The mains roles of the intended play Matilda Jr were auditioned for prior to the Summer school. These roles were obviously based on age and each child who wished to audition for a role had to learn a song and or script and selftape.
I feel this process was fair and true to what it is for any amateur show a child may like to go for either now or when old enough.
The lead roles were then offered out by email and it said that all children would be getting a least one line in the show if they would like one.
Learning a full show in one week that normally takes theatre companies a minimum of 12 weeks to rehearse is a huge ask. But my goodness they didn't just achieve it they surpassed many parents expectations.
I personally have seen and been apart of many amateur productions and what Articulate show cased on Friday night was outstanding!!!
Every single child shone. And best of all they had the biggest smiles and you could tell how much they enjoyed being on that stage. Even the tiny kids showed so much passion and stole the show when they came on.
The older children with bigger roles showed so much professionalism and it honestly felt like they had all been working together for months.
My daughter didn't just enjoy doing the show. She enjoyed the whole process. The audition, learning all the songs and dances and most of all new friends who like her all loved drama. She said, her words......'I felt happy because I was with my kind of people'.
The teachers were outstanding and so incredibly supportive. Hannah the drama manager was so friendly, supportive and very approachable with any child's medical issues ect. (My daughter has a life threatening condition) They made sure she was safe at all times.
Kirsty, lotty and natasha were and amazing trio. My daughter already attends weekly lessons with kirsty but this was an extra amazing experience with her.
Working backstage alot myself for my daughters dance school and other productions I know just how much went into this week.
The staff were kind, supportive and encouraged all kids. The price of the week I feel was exceptional especially when you take into consideration they have 3 teachers a day doing different lessons, lunch times and play breaks.
Also included was the tshirt and lots of photos which were sent after the show. And we are awaiting the video which was filmed also.
My daughter will absolutely be attending next year and wishes it was more than once a year!!!!
Thank you Articulate for the most amazing first experience at a Summer school!!!
Summer school 25!
My daughter doesn’t come to the drama school so was quite anxious about coming. (She does suffer with MH) We were greeted with huge smiles on arrival, and she was told which group she was in. There were 3 groups, each in certain age ranges. They alternated between singing dancing and acting. I couldn’t get her to leave after the first day! She’d made friends in her group, been given a line to say and got a free T-shirt! Everyone seemed really supportive, cheering each other on in the auditions! The show was fantastic and you could see the camaraderie. We’ll be back next year!
This was the third year running that our daughter (16 yrs) has been a part of the Baildon summer school arranged and managed by Articulate.
It is without a doubt her favourite week of the summer; she has been challenged, she has learned, she has made wonderful friends and I could not recommend this highly enough.
As an audience member I have been in complete awe each year just what a group of committed kids and passionate adults can create.
This year just one week wasn’t enough, so she’s now at the Ilkley summer school!
If you are not already a member of the Articulate Drama School, I would strongly advise thinking twice before signing your child up for their summer programme, a musical in a week. In our experience, children outside the regular classes are simply there to fund the programme, not to be treated equally or included meaningfully.
From the outset, roles were unevenly distributed, with regular pupils given two parts, while newcomers were overlooked. What was advertised as a fun, creative summer activity turned out to be stressful, exclusionary, and poorly managed.
The environment was far from safe or supportive. Bullying was rife, and shockingly, I picked my daughter up in tears after another child held her by the neck. The staff were apparently oblivious.
The teaching style was harsh and inappropriate, more in line with Roald Dahl’s Miss Trunchbull than a caring children’s educator, which is particularly ironic given that the musical being rehearsed was Matilda. It was supposed to be fun, not a high-pressure professional training ground. This is a holiday activity for children, not the Royal Shakespeare Company. Of course there’s value in aiming high, but expecting young children (some completely new to drama) to be off-book by day two and threatening to remove them from the performance if they aren’t, is completely inappropriate. You don’t build confidence by using fear or shame, you do it by creating a safe, encouraging, and inclusive space to learn.
My daughter left the programme after two days with her confidence shattered, criticised and ridiculed for being “too quiet.” Encouraging children does not come through public embarrassment or fear-based tactics.
We previously had a wonderful experience with Articulate a few years ago in Ilkley when they ran Mary Poppins, a friendly, inclusive environment where children were allowed to use scripts until the day before the performance. Friendships were made and lasting memories created. Sadly, this was nothing like that. Something has changed and not for the better.
To make matters worse, my daughter is deaf, a fact we made clear at sign-up. While we were asked about accommodations, none were actually provided. This is not only disappointing but a breach of basic inclusivity and accessibility standards.
And finally, safeguarding. After withdrawing my daughter, she did not attend for the remaining three days. Nobody checked in. Nobody noticed. That in itself says everything.

Awful. Booked my daughter in for holiday club (5 days to put a play together then show the parents on the last day) and she only lasted a day. They obviously did not want an autistic child there, no matter how capable, and ignored her every time she put her hand up to get a line in the play.
Teachers only interacted with children who already attend articulate and wouldn’t give others a chance - most notably obvious through the fact that children who do not already attend articulate “accidentally” did not receive the email asking for audition tapes for main parts in May.
Company apparently only want a west end style production with children being told they would be “patted” on the head if they weren’t good enough / didn’t know the words enough, and wouldn’t be in the final production. My child is anxious enough without this kind of threat hanging over them.
My kid went three years ago and had a great time but I understand there has been a change of management since then and it really shows.
This was meant to be a fun week for kids, but now the company only open it up to outside their own kids for cash and not to give them a positive experience.

Had to make a complaint about one of the bookers due to they're personal offensive comments (on email) the manager Stacey backed her up blatantly secist on another note lost my Personal information bs and blamed me would not recommend appalling attitude to a client.
My son has been attending Articulate drama classes since he was at primary school. Firstly in Gomersal and now in Birstall.
The classes have really helped his develop his social skills, confidence and he has made many friends. Both Kirsty and Lee are excellent supportive teachers, providing feedback along the way.
He has been lucky enough to get some regular support artist work and the Articulate office are really great in communicating what we need to do for this with school etc.
I would highly recommend Articulate.
My daughter has been attending weekly online classes and the occasional photoshoot and workshop with Articulate for around 4 years now. The classes and workshop give an excellent grounding in acting for screen, and the agency representation is superb too. They set high expectations for the kids they represent and this is evident on set. You can spot the Articulate kids by their professional approach, kindness, work ethic and manners. That's down to Articulate.
My 9 yr old daughter loves her screen acting drama classes at Articulate. She usually gets bored of most hobbies but she loves going to Articulate! Her teacher, Kirsty is brilliant and has been great at teaching her new skills and my daughter’s confidence has grown so much since starting classes here. Would highly recommend these classes.
My daughter has been to a few drama schools but then we found this one as she wasn't happy in previous one!! So her first day she was welcomed soo much into the class by teachers and ALL of the students this couldn't of been better!! She's been with articulate now since June last year and she loves every single minute and it's the best thing we have ever done for her!! There teaching is spectacular, the workshops that they do sometimes is absolutely perfect couldn't ask for anymore!! She's also done some supporting artist work and loved every minuteof that, and is currently excited to see it when it's released!! Honestly I can go on and on at how brilliant this school is. Not only that but it's soo affordable you get absolutely loads for your money and not only that they help our children achieve there dream. The last workshop was last Sunday and it was the best £25 I have ever spent!! It was my husband who went with my daughter and the class was extremely informative and my daughter learnt loads of out this but so did my husband on how to actually create a self tape!! Fantastic school I highly highly recommend this!! Thankyou articulate for everything!! 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My daughter has been attending drama classes at Articulate, Baildon, since mid-October 2024 & she absolutely loves both her in-person and online LAMDA classes, which she started last month. Her confidence has grown & she has learnt so much in the past few months & looks forward to more! She adores her drama teacher Kirsty & her teaching style. All the staff, Stacey, Lucy, Hannah & Hue are friendly, helpful, and maintain excellent communication. We truly feel we’ve chosen the best Drama School and Agency in Yorkshire, and I am so proud that my daughter is a student there.
My child has been coming nearly two years and loves the classes, she's only just gone 7 so its a great introduction into the acting world!
My daughter has been having online lessons with Articulate for over 4 years. The teachers are industry professionals and she has learned a great deal from them. They are supportive, kind and effective. The drama school is well organised and communication is good. The format works well for screen acting work particularly. She has made some close and lasting friendships. I would recommend these classes unreservedly.
My child's confidence has grown since joining articulate. They love the acting screen classes and have been given amazing opportunities to work on some fabulous TV and film productions. She particularly loves the workshops, giving her the opportunity to work with dialect coaches and workshops on perfecting her self tapes. The agents and drama teachers are amazing, really supporting and encouraged. They really do want each child to thrive.
I cannot recommend Articulate enough. My daughter was very shy, not very confident to begin with hence why we looked into Articulate, I wanted her to feel comfortable, confident as the world can be a cruel place. The difference I see in my daughter is beyond amazing she loves going to class learning, playing and feeling confident in her own skin is worth everything. Her teachers are kind and they honestly care about every child that attends. I cannot thank Articulate enough the way they’ve been with my daughter she’s flourishing it makes me so proud and emotional.
Thank you team! 🎭
