From personal experience

From personal experience, I can tell you Barnstable Academy in Oakland NJ and its culture changed with its leadership recently. What used to be an inclusive and welcoming school for students has become a cess pool of students and staff who demonstrate bullying, intolerance, and drug issues. There is documentation where students admit they gossip with staff. The staff is judgmental. One new teacher in particular not only gossiped about students but was also caught smoking a weed pen in the school during the school day. The school tolerates poor behavior and doesn’t want to address any issues as they like to portray themselves as perfect and happy all the time even though that’s not real life. They make a big deal about the ‘upstander pledge’ when in reality it is a joke. They are obsessed with looking at cameras but are not inclined to deal with the problem children until their feet are held to the fire. It is a business and they care about filling their numbers so they don’t care about the problem students they let in the last two or so years. If you looks at other review sites, you will see that the reviews are based from 2020 and earlier. The culture has sadly changed the last two years for sure.
