Shite company. Poor app, unable to link Amazon subscription to Hayu through their app as only shows options to do subscriptions through their app, yet their webpage has a button for “if you have an Amazon subscription please click here” yet you can’t then watch anything on the browser. Ongoing issue since December 2025, endless emails have been ignored and social media team rubbish. Don’t bother.
The website and app constantly crashes
The website and app constantly crashes, does not load or is slow. To post this review I have to give a date of experience. The date is the past 3 years there is constant issues with the app and website. It’s not acceptable when people are paying.

I am just so sick and tired of this app crashing all the time on my LG TV I have done all the necessary steps to clear the cache and deleting and reinstalling the app. it just keeps crashing! not renewing my subscription.

Hayu is appalling!
I've been having the same issue for years with HAYU like everyone else. In the end what I would do is request a refund every time they missed a paid episode out, which they did frequently. In the end they just stopped answering my emails as they did with everyone else. My last straw was when they got rid of the chrome cast feature. Every time I watched i would get an error message telling me someone else was using my account. Yes, it was me for god sake trying to watch on a big screen instead of my phone. I got rid! Went to Prime and Now. Same issue! Missing out numerous episodes in the middle of seasons. I dont think Now are even showing Potomac s15 e13 at all. I've now gone over to YouTube but same thing they don't show the latest episode in the line up on that season you have to search it and try to remember what episode you want to watch. Get rid of the Hayu app all, go and watch it on YouTube. Hayu ignored me for years. They're a terrible, terrible company. If it wasn't for the housewives and tv being so crap now I wouldn't even give them my money at all.
This has to be the worst app ever
This has to be the worst app ever, in terms of crashing. It just buffers indefinitely when starting a programme and also takes you to season 1 of everything and then doesn't list the other seasons?
Considering its not a free app customers expect better. I don't know about increasing the subscription charges, when the app isn't fit for person.
After 2 years and raising it with them, they've never attempted to resolve it. You have to delete the entire app and re download it constantly, we'll today was the very last time, subscription cancelled and wont be even attempting to download it again.

Wrote a review in 2025, saying it was good. My experience since has been dreadful 😞 downloading is very slow, and drops out, buffering. Doesn't even stream on bedroom TV. Yet all other streaming channels do. Bravo has cancelled Below deck sailing yacht. Winter house, Below deck adventures so I haven't renewed subscription as price has increased for less shows. Terrible streaming experience. Wouldn't recommend

Unscrupulous company Do Not Subscribe! We subscribed for a few month while we watched a series and then tried to cancel. Which is impossible, 9 months later I am still trying. I stopped my Barclaycard payment out of desperation but they still say I have a subscription and continue to accrue the charge. I am unable to pay the accruing balance following their instructions online because my Sky account is up to date, so it says I have nothing to pay and it won't let me cancel it until the outstanding balance is paid. It's such a scam! They do not reply to emails, they just ignore you.
The App crashes constantly
The App crashes constantly, doesn't load, cycles through its very frustrating. It has good content when it works but is consistently unreliable. They are putting their prices up again, if you can find a better app to stream the programmes you like I would look into other apps.

I am truly shocked about the negative reviews, i watch Hayu every morning before work, it never glitches, it saves my watching progress.

I have not used the service for over 10 months, I asked for my service to be unsubscribed and only last month I noticed this company have been taking money from my account.
I requested a refund and with all their might they said no refund.
I am trying to help people from signing up to this service as I don't want them to suffer the same drama I did.

App is not easy to navigate. Quite clearly see that it’s just for content and driving revenue. Feels like universal just keep it as a tick along. If the content was available elsewhere like Netflix / Apple / Amazon or others I would jump in a flash. Saves the frustration of the app. Have no had this app over 5 years and still not used to it and hasn’t moved with the times. Still stuck on whatever technology 5years a go

Absolutely Rubbish
I have exactly the same complaint as everyone else here. This has been going on for more than six months now. From glitches, signing in problems, freezing programmes, error codes and EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, you name it, it's all there. Everything is wrong with this app. It is so bad I have unsubscribed before the price goes up to almost £53. They tried to trick me into staying by dropping subscription to £22.50. I told them where they could stick their app. I've had enough! If I could give minus stars I absolutely would. Searching for other ways to watch my favourite programmes now.
Suspicious offer “glitches”
Shocking customer service and suspect activity on offers. I’m a previous subscriber so in the t&c’s I was allowed the 6 months for £12 deal, yet when I tried to renew, clicked but nothing happened. Emailed customer service to be given a stock answer, try another browser etc. Weirdly enough around an hour before the deal ended, my page was suddenly working but with a new price of £28.99!! Told them to forget it. Not sure why they’re not being looked into!

Absolutely the worst app I’ve tried streaming from!!!!!!!!! Constant error codes CONSTANT not been able to watch episodes WOW!!!! If another app streamed the shows I watch I would definitely drop HAYU without hesitation! The WORST.
Haven't encountered worse Customer Service in a long time
I have not encountered a worse Customer Service from a serious company for a long time. Had subscribed for a month via my Apple account. When I wanted to watch something however, it didn't work and Hayu prompted me, when clicking on an episode, to pay again via them. Since we were eager to watch that night I complied. Thought they would give me the money back later. They didn't...
The problem is that nobody in customer service seems to read what their colleagues wrote just one or two days earlier. Had to explain time and again what happened, what I wanted, why what I wanted was different from what they thought I wanted etc. It must, in total, literally have costed me a day or so to communicate with them, and to explain the same thing over and over. In the end they gave me a free extra month, but I don't use Hayu that much, and it's not what I was after. I'm a bit of a fool myself, of course, for putting all this time in. Thought they were communicating in good faith. Now that I look back it feels they were at times just pretending to not understand me.
Also: I should have looked on Trustpilot before engaging in this time-sink. Out of 683 reviews: 88% are 1-star reviews, 6% are 2-stars, and 1 % is 3-stars. Wow! Haven't seen it that bad ever. A LOT of people are complaining about not getting their money back. And for as far as I can tell they never ever respond on Trustpilot either. Untrustworthy company, in my view. Don't subscribe. Some of their shows are available on other Streamers. Take them instead, I'd say.

The reality: Hayu customer experience is trash
Hayu customer service gives canned, non-customer-centered answers to every customer problem and feedback given to them. Beyond taking their glitchy app and website 3x as long as any other service I’ve used, they are also passive aggressive (“as a consequence of this, your account has been deactivated”) and tend to completely ignore part of all of your specific situation or questions. They’re as fake and unempathetic as the titles they carry. Never again.
