Website claims of “free filing” for T2 with no stated product fee are highly misleading. Do not recommend using this product and encouraging their disingenuous business practices. Helpdesk employees double down to defend the company’s duplicitous practices. Shame on you Efile! Be upfront with customers and let them decide if they want to pay the user fee before wasting their valuable time .
Tried filing a return for the first…
Tried filing a return for the first time and it turned into the worst online experience I can ever recall. Absolutely NOT user friendly with confusing
and incomplete instructions for completing a simple return that would take me 1 hour tops to fill out a paper return. I gave up after 3 hours and deleted my account. The only reason I tried UFile was file it before year end with only 3 days remaining.
Terrible user support excperience
I used Ufile last year to file my 2024 tax return. This year when I try to look at last year's return, there is no data. When I call Ufile, they said I must have deleted it and they could not help me. When I asked to speak to their boss, they hung up on me.
Does not recognize Public Service…
Does not recognize Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP), Federal Employee working in Ontario but living in Quebec. No QPP contributions reads as an error for filing, keeping me from submitting electronically.
The whole reason is to file electronically.
Long time UFile user but now...
We have used Ufile for many years with no real issues. The last couple of returns however are a different matter. This program used to have a feature 'Let Max Decide' This was regarding the splitting of investments etc between spouses.. We noticed the last couple of years it wasn't saying that anymore, so we thought good ole Max is doing it automatically. Fast forward to 2025. The CRA is on us. It would seem that the program is not entering the info correctly anymore so we owe money plus penalties. We are done with Tax Softwares from now on! Not sure why they played with a good thing.
Completely untrustworthy program
Completely untrustworthy program. 3 years running the software screwed up my files and imputted data did not exist into income that I did not make. I thought at first it was revenue canada. It wasn't me. Because I didn't enter a thing. I just followed the procedure. Download your income and it is supposed to get filled out. When it files the income has changed 3 years running. Now I don't have access to my previous years taxes. Do not trust this company.
Terrible experience
I asked for a refund for a technical problem. They promised they will send me a refund cheque by mail. I keep on sending them emails to follow up this issue since March. At first, they still responsed and made up excuses of: "because I brought it from Walmart, it needs time to do the account procedure, or the accounting department is in India, it takes time to mail it out." OK, I wait for 5 months, still not haven't received the cheque. At last, I emailed again on Aug.,17, they blocked my emai address. Anyway, learn a lesson!!

how do you kill a business? Hire customer service representatives who give absolute disdain and could not be bothered attitudes.
I tried to sign up went through all the pages of info and then ended up with an error code saying it was unavailable. Except for the fact that now I am "magically" on their mailing list.
So I replied to their help desk and said hey I tried to sign up and it didn't work but I'm getting emails from you, so obviously your system has my email.
this is the exact reply:

I tried to purchase your T2 software this morning and I had a very bad experience with your service. I will never use your product again. I entered my address, phone number and credit card information. There is no confirmation or anything after I hit confirm, and the screen switched back to Ufile software. However, I am still not able to efile. I called your service line, 514-315-3699. The person who answered the phone told me that she could not help me to check the payment. I asked her what she could do to help, what this service line is for, is it for software supporting only or what? She said there was no software support line either. so I asked her what she could help again, she didn't say anything and hung up on me. What the great experience!
Absolute garbage software this year
Absolute garbage software this year. spins. doesn't work half the time. Doesn't submit things properly. At tax season, it doesn't even work and you end up filing late due to it.
Doesn't highlight errors, doesn't make it easy to get to the correct place. Everything about this user experience is godawful.
Use anything else. Paper and pencil is better.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed, paid fee twice by mistake, asking for a refund, provided all the required documents. no answer. very bad customer service.
Slow and Scam $
The program is beyond slow and not very user friendly. They also overcharged me in which I've asked for the overcharged to be refumd and I have yet to receive a response on 2 emails after 9 days. STAY AWAY
OK for a few years using it but became a scam
OK for a few years using it. But this year they double charge the fee: I bought back in November the version "Family head + 2 dependents" in a promotion as I do every years. However, to file my wife's UFile charge an individual fee. Customer service does not reply emails and phone call drops once "transfer" the call the the agent (after I spend 30~60 minutes waiting). Do not use this scam.
I was using UFile for several years
I was using UFile for several years, it's fine in general, but if you try to submit your taxes on April 30th - forget it, it's slow and crashing all the time.
Also it seems running on outdated Microsoft web server with some documentation missing for some fields returning 404 error.
I probably should try other solution next year.
Absolute garbage
2.5 days of waiting for the site to load, 1.75 hours on hold with customer service to be told in horribly broken and almost unintelligible english that "we are working on it, please try again later.." and be hung up on. This all started with 4 simple fields that require a 0 and won't accept them, causing errors that prevent me from even reviewing my information.. now the site is down completely and no one can access their information or file. Incredible job Ufile, right at tax crunch time too, guess the billion or so dollars that you profit yearly isnt enough to reinvest in infastructure that long time clients deserve to have in place. It shpuld be illegal for your company to exist in such a horrible state, I hope ypu are decommissioned. What a waste of time and energy, spend yours elsewhere!
I have happily used Ufile for YEARS BUT...WOW
I have used Ufile for YEARS. I really liked the simplicity of the software - for the most part it is intuitive. HOWEVER, there was a glitch in their software for my 2024 tax year. I contacted them via email and then phone - they suggested I upgrade to premium for faster support, and then they never helped me. In the chat, they disconnected me three times when I said that the glitch still exists. When I called, they were friendly at first, but when they couldn't figure out the problem, they just hung up on me. When I submitted my 2024 tax, it didn't reflect the FHSA info that I had put in - even though it was line for line the same as how we inputted my partners information. I submitted a ticket to Ufile and several emails to the helpdesk asking for a refund over the past weeks which I feel is fair since the software didn't work and I never got to utilize the premium, but no response. I would say that if you ever have an issue with the program, then UFILE is not the company for you.I now have to resubmit my taxes through mycra which is just a hassle.
Awful System Glitches - Unhelpful Customer Support
I have been a loyal user of Ufile Online for 10 years. I have used it to file both mine and my mother's taxes. I've had minor problems in recent years but kept using it because of all the history saved. This year has been by far the worst experience. I literally cannot file my taxes because the info I'm entering into the form will not save. None of the info from prior years carried over to my new form (the only reason why I keep using ufile). When contacting customer service, this is the response I got (below) which barely makes any sense. There is also no indication of when the issues will be resolved. No indication of what issues are being experienced. I should be able to have the same experience, whether I file on March 1st or on the tax deadline. Their system should obviously support increased web traffic closer to the deadline. Heading over to Turbo Tax.

Poor customer service and system full of glitches
Customer service is non existent. I waited one hour on the phone despite the system saying 39 min wait time. When a Chinese agent answered, i could not understand her, she was very rude and seemed overwhelmed... She asked me to open a ticket but i said that I already did and they had never replied. She seemed incompetent to answer my questions and had to put me on hold She could not even write down my email correctly after repeating 4 times ... The system is full of glitches and despite reporting them year after year they don't not fix them. I use online Ufile and their server is so slow during peak hours, you can barely navigate in the system. I do not recommend Ufile.
After using ufile for years
After using ufile for years, I switched to Ufile on line which turned out to be a terribly bad experience. When I was unable to retrieve my 2022 taxes when I started my 2023 taxes, now both my 2022 and 2023 are completely erased. The guide at the other end tells me that the problem is because I use an IMac !
It has not been possible to retrieve my 2023 return which was not finished and had been saved,
I will request my $$$ back.

Then tried to contact them multiple times, over 1 hour waiting time!!!
Send request form, and nobody is bothering responding.
Additionally their tax filing is widely incorrect.. Do yourself a favour and use another company to file taxes
