I got a trainee instructor- which in normal circumstances would be absolutely fine. However, this guy was constantly looking at is phone, I don’t mean just checking messages occasionally, he was watching entire scenes from sitcoms with audio on. This obviously affected his ability to offer feedback on my driving and made me feel unsafe.

I think he eventually got fired, but he had been a trainee with BSM for ant least a year and taught me for a few months which raises questions about how well they are vetting and supervising trainees.

I was pleased to find any driving instructor with weekend/evening availability so stayed with him way longer than I should have. He was also chronically late for my lessons (up to an hour sometimes).

I had John Guilfoyle as my driving instructor and I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough! He helped me progress super quickly as I was test-ready in just over two months of lessons with him, which led to me passing first time.

John is super friendly, patient, and instructs you in a way that you’ll retain the tips he’s given, which made such a difference to my confidence and progression behind the wheel. He consistently went above and beyond in every lesson, making sure I fully understood everything and felt comfortable before moving on. He also thoroughly explains what to expect on your test and flags things on test routes (which he takes you around!) that tends to catch people out.

Not only is he a fantastic instructor, but he also makes lessons enjoyable and engaging. I’m so grateful for all his support and guidance - genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Highly recommend!

Lewis Atkins is an excellent driving instructor and I would highly recommend him to anyone. I passed my test first time, and learning with him was a very positive and fun experience. He’s funny, down to earth, and patient, which made such a difference. Every lesson felt productive but relaxed, and I always felt like I was making real progress. He also gave me a lot of useful tips and tricks. If you’re looking for an instructor who genuinely cares and wants you to succeed, Lewis is your guy! Thank you so much Lewis, I’d give 20 stars if I could.

I had Baqir as my instructor and could not recommend more. He was super helpful, understanding and good at explaining areas that I needed to improve. Would 1000% recommend the company and especially him.

I cannot recommend Scott Reynolds highly enough. He was a great instructor and very patient. He created a calm environment to learn in as well as making sure that any mistakes were corrected promptly to ensure that I was ready for my test. He helped to grow my confidence with driving so I am excited to get driving now that I have passed. I very grateful to Scott for all of his support and cannot recommend him enough.

Syed abid raza was completely unprossional as well as bsm
Booked my lesson on 8th feb 2026 cancelled my lesson without notice as he was on holidays and bsm failed to inform him of the lesson times.

Syed rescheduled my lesson for 14th feb without notice only notice this on 8th of feb during lesson time while checking the bsm app.

Bsm and syed response is they notified while messages and email regarding reschedule which is completely not true as no one informed me.

I had taken time off work specially for the lesson which got wasted.

When messaged syed he was not even aware of the lessons or myself as a student to him.

When I changed from 14th feb to 11feb.

I got a message from syed that I was suppose to text him ( what type of professional trainer does this)
I had completely lost trust in him even before starting.

I contracted bsm and they put 48 hours policy for cancelling the lesson and informed I will be charged

Again forcing me to go with a trainer I am not comfortable with.

Bsm refusing to help and assist.
I have now requested refund for the prepaid hours I have taken. Which they haven't released including the booked hours .

I will be taking a legal action as I got all screenshots of syed bsm beth (advisor)

I passed my driving test today thanks to my driving instructor Ralph Hart who had to step in for my previous instructor who decided that he was not making enough money from the area I live in. Ralph taking over was a blessing and I am thankful to my fellow brother for getting me through it all.

100% recommended this man if you want to pass easily.

Posting on behalf of my son. He had a great experience learning with Peter Cogger through BSM. Peter is a brilliant instructor, always calm, professional and very friendly. He was incredibly understanding of my son's situation and really adapted to his way of learning which made a huge difference to his confidence and helped him pass his test :) Peter was flexible and supportive throughout the whole process. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a patient and top-tier instructor. Thanks again for everything Peter!

A couple days ago I passed my driving test first time at Belvedere Centre thanks to John Bolton! I started with John as a complete beginner and was very lucky to have an instructor who was incredibly patient and clear from day one. Any mistakes I made were corrected and practised, making sure I was fully prepared not only for test day but to drive confidently once I had passed. He really understands how to build confidence and explains everything in an easy to understand way. John is a lovely instructor, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to learn with. I’d highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive. Plus, the car was amazing too, a great experience overall!

Wish I had read the 1* review here already about trainee instructor Ralph Hart. Booked him for a lesson for my son. Arrived 34 minutes late and dropped my son off 30 mins early. Paid for 2 hours and was totally ripped off by him. Called him and asked him why he did this. He told me to "take it up with the office" and hung up on me.

Was unpleasant to my son during the lesson too.

I will be seeking a refund for that lesson.

UPDATE: BSM refused to refund despite having mobile phone tracking to prove the lesson ran 1 hour instead of 2 hours and CCTV at home showing time leaving/of arrival - so I was scammed by Ralph Hart/BSM.

If you live in Herts Hertfordshire St Albans Hatfield Potters Bar - be careful of this dishonest and unprofssional TRAINEE driving instructor. BSM claim Ralph Hart refused the refund in their response.

I will be reporting him to the DVSA (driving instructor regulator) about as he has stolen my money and his behaviour is concerning - see other 1* review about him on here as well.

I passed my driving test on the first try, and I’m really grateful to my instructor, Jose Caires. He’s a great teacher—calm, patient, and always paying attention to everything you do. You can tell he’s truly dedicated to helping his students feel confident and prepared.

I definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a solid and supportive driving instructor.

I passed my driving test first time thanks to my instructor, Sameer Rashid. He’s a calm and collected professional, easy to talk to and very thorough in his teaching. Without his help I wouldn’t have been as confident and able in my driving.

My instructor Sameer was extremely helpful in improving both my driving ability and my overall confidence on the road, which is exactly what I was looking for in an instructor.
Not only this but we built up a great connection, which made me extremely motivated to want to do well and to continue having lessons with him.
I would highly recommend both Sameer as an instructor and BSM as a driving school for anyone who wants to learn how to drive.

Succeeded in passing my driving test the first time thanks to the careful teaching and patience from my instructor Ahmed. I owe it all to him and my own dedication and care. Quality of teaching content and driving experience really excellent too.

I cannot recommend BSM and specifically instructor Scott Reynolds highly enough. 🌟 Thanks to his outstanding teaching, calm guidance, and genuine commitment to my progress, I passed my driving test first time!!! Today I passed my driving test, and I owe it all to my amazing instructor, Kourosh Zare from BSM Driving School. He kindly took me on at the last minute, after my previous instructor

Kourosh was exactly the instructor I needed — supportive, patient, and gentle in his approach, yet firm and focused on helping me improve where I’d been struggling before. In just one week, he worked his magic and completely transformed my confidence behind the wheel.

His calm manner and clear teaching style helped me stay focused and relaxed, and his expertise is truly second to none. I feel so grateful and blessed to have had him guide me through the final stretch of my training. Thank you Kourosh, we did it!

I highly recommend Mr Kourosh Zare who is an impeccable driving instructor. He was my first instructor and was able to demonstrate great levels of knowledge, patience, confidence and thoroughness with me, a mature driver (over 40 years old who last attempted to drive more than 20 years prior). Together with BSM, Mr Zare saw me pass my driving test on *my first attempt*. He'll keep you safe from the perils of driving in terse urban environments, at speed and more. He is quite flexible for me, being able to accommodate my non-typical schedule which was greatly appreciated. In summary, if you want a good driving school I recommend BSM, if you want an example of a good instructor from BSM: Mr Kourosh.

Thank you so much to Scott Reynolds and everything he’s done. I would highly recommend him for any anxious drivers as he’s motivating and easygoing.

Absolutely cannot recommend Travis Joseph enough passed first time with 2 minors ! From the start Travis has always made me feel comfortable and calm providing an excellent environment to learn and progress with my driving. He has truly supported me through every step of the way with pre- exam nerves, learning how to park smoothly, practicing test routes ahead of time and feeling confident within myself own abilities. His extensive knowledge of the Highway Code and exam tips is truly impressive and I appreciate how well he has always answered any questions I’ve had in such a direct but informative way. Thank you Travis !!

I passed first time thanks to my instructor Shafiq Hafeez. I'm a naturally shy & cautious person but Shaf was intuitive enough to know when I needed more direct tutoring but also when I needed to be gently pushed to take more responsibility and trust myself. I felt that Shaf went above and beyond to teach me the necessary skills to be a good driver and not 'just enough' to pass the test - which in turn made me more confident in my abilities and thus more able to pass. Whenever I made mistakes he was always encouraging and a calming presence. Shaf was also accommodating if and when I needed to move lesson dates, and I would wholeheartedly recommend his services as a driving instructor!
