This is simply my experience

This is simply my experience, shared for awareness. Years ago, I committed the majority of my savings to an online investment platform that appeared well-established and reliable. I monitored it consistently and felt secure in my decision.

That sense of security changed when I tried to withdraw my funds. Minor delays gradually became prolonged restrictions, with repetitive responses that did not lead to resolution.

While searching for information, I came across 𝐯͟𝐞͟𝐫͟𝐢͟ 𝐭͟𝐫͟𝐚͟𝐢͟𝐥͟ 𝐢͟𝐧͟𝐭͟𝐞͟𝐥͟ through community feedback. I approached carefully, but their explanations were clear and realistic. The recovery process was not immediate, but I eventually regained access to my funds. It was a difficult lesson about due diligence and maintaining caution in online investing.

Awful to deal with, can't even order takeaway food without frightened security checks and unable to buy food if you can't remember how much you spent last Thursday in a shop. Starving hungry now and unable to order a meal with my own money. Sickening.

Face to face service

Why is everything so complicated with Halifax???? Myself and partner walked (both life long Halifax customers) into a main branch today, wanting to see someone about combining,/opening a new joint account as we are moving in together, we wanted current/saving/mortgage advice oh no this can't be done in branch, do it online. There is 1 member of staff who can do it but he's not in today and we can't make an appointment to see him wtf!!! I get everything is digital these days but sometimes you just want to see a human being face to face. Oh and the mortgage advisors work from home to, so arranging the biggest purchase of your life needs to be done via teams. Do better Halifax, thinking of leaving and joining another bank now!!

Halifax sent me a page that is unreadable.

Halifax sent me a page in messages ,it has a title that states" Take a look at whats new" I took a screen shot to post on here, but there's no facility on Trust Pilot to upload, very poor planning by Trustpilot in my opinion.
The page sent to my mobile by Halifax has very tiny text ! Unreadable, also you cannot expand the page. Why Halifax ? I can read it on my PC , but not on my mobile phone.

This scam steals deposits

This scam steals deposits. Promised profits never appear, and their messages mislead. I lost funds, though𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚guided my withdrawal. Their prompt communication, easy instructions, steady updates, and supportive manner created a smooth, trustworthy experience that restored confidence and delivered a much better outcome than I expected.

HALIFAX - ATROX

I currently have a mortgage with Halifax which was coming to the end of its existing term at the end of January 2026… so we secured a new mortgage with Halifax but also applied for an additional 6K home improvement loan on top of this.

I was told quite clearly by Lee G from mortgages that I can apply for a fresh home improvement loan just now separately to securing the new mortgage.

So the application continued - firstly we had to provide several documents which of course is fine and as expected.

However after uploading our payslips we were told they did not receive them. This went on for a few days, eventually after uploading them around 6 times they confirmed they had got them.

Then we were told we had to provide ID which again is fine however in the email they sent the said we could upload this. So we did upload a in date drivers licences and passports…

We assumed that was it… only to learn a few days later that there had been a face mismatch on the ID despite not allowing us a link or an option anywhere to actually take a selfie.

The communication from Halifax at this point is staggeringly bad. They send you an email which by all accounts appears to seem to blatantly a scam email - It looks like $XO Mortages which in today’s day and age with so many scams happening it is remarkably they can’t just budget in a change of the mortgage email.

When they email you an update you log in and the detail they provide one at is outstanding is so vague Einstein couldn’t work out what they mean. So you have to phone them… the when you get through to them the agent on the phone does not have a clue what is outstanding or what is required.

They then tell you to logon and find out.. however if you log in to the app it tells you NOTHING about the loan application. Then if you finally manage to log on to the place you are meant to all i got was THIS SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE PLEASE PHONE US… then you phone them and it just goes round and round and round.

Anyway so eventually we find out we need to take our ID to a branch… so we travel 30 miles to our nearest branch.

Arrive there, get told by cheeky staff there’s an hours wait (for obvious reasons)

I visit another branch who then eventually scan our ID despite not knowing initially how to.

Fantastic, we have finally managed to resolve this….. yippe… em, yes… you guessed it

WRONG

I receive an email a few days later saying “By the way your application is now out of date and you will need to do it again, apply again, upload your payslips
ID etc”

So I phone Halifax again and yes sure indeed that is exactly what they tell me.

Of course I give up at this stage… I can’t upload my payslips for the 749th time and I can’t accept getting ID’d more than a 15 year old trying to enter a nightclub.

I give up. I give up with this bank. I give up with its people.

A normal hard working customer who has never went in to arrears after having the mortgage for over 5 years and actually overpaid overall and we can’t get a 6K home improvement loan despite having a solid strong income. Just looking to help the family, the young family we hope to have.

Some people who were part of this nightmare worth of mention

Samuel F - I phoned up, was told what I need to do by this person, I did it and it never got me anywhere

Karen D, same thing

One of the managers Shelley H…. The spoken who lead the ship must be called out too.

It’s a disgrace when everyone at the bottom dealing with calls just get the heat when it’s those who hide behind screens and titles who escape the heat.

Once our mortgage with Halifax ends we will be for the off

I beg, I mean BEG anyone looking at this to please please LEAVE HALIFAX bank.

They can and absolutely will treat you the way they have treated me

Many thanks
